The hens have been scratching dort up into their waterer EVERY DAY, so we got them this bucket with drinker cups. This silly roo was drinking the drops of water running down the bucket. As soon as he figured out the cups, he called the girls over to show them! 💕

She hatched 5 goslings. Another egg was pipping, so I put it in the incubator with the Easter Egger eggs. The unhatched ones were slipped under another goose who started setting a few days after the saddleback.

3 goslings visualized. I won't know the official head count until backup arrives since I have a gander guarding each side of the stairwell.

Life on the funny farm. The dogs were barking their "predator alert" bark when I was having my first cup of coffee. I run out in my slippers. The geese had busted into the fenced yard and we're all hiding under the deck. I check the barnyard and see strange footprints, but they were skids in the mud, so I couldn't identify who made them. Then I get a call from the police that there's a loose pony a couple of miles from my house. I go out to the chicken coop and FIND a loose pony. OMG! It's my dear friend's mini, who lives 6 miles away. The mini passed other horse places to come to my house. Said mini is a rescue, semi-feral. The owner is out of town. Mini is now safe in my barn, will be picked up tomorrow night.

Our first open poultry show! Our white Sebastopol geese did so-so. 3rd, 4th,and 5th places in their classes. Our colors did well. 1st and 2nd places in their classes. We sold all of our extra roosters and 3 mixed-breed ducks. We reconnected with people who we knew from horse and goat shows. We made more contacts in the poultry world.
