Whats up guys & gals, It's been quite a while since I've got anything posted up here. All is well on the homestead though and we've been busy between work projects and sidehustles most notably the Mrs' baking & specialty cookie gig. And coming soon, I'll be making & selling some various woodcraft items like these custom made wooden crates & this wooden patriotic flag. This particular price and made from pallets wood and used torch work for the stripes and field of "blue". More to come soon too, some with the traditional colors and designs like Betsy Ross '76 & Don't Tread On Me plus some higher end ones made using high quality hickory. So stay tuned, I'll drop each one on this page first before they go up on marketplace and elsewhere!

If you're into low-carb, keto, even carnivore check out our video recipe for chaffles! These are an excellent alternative to buns, bread, etc. Even use the mixture on a sheet pan to make low-carb pizza!

The Farm Stand is temporarily closed, we sold basically all of our plant starts and thanks to everyone who came by to check it out! Let's gone it's a great growing season!

We have some unique ideas of things to put out at the farm stand so stay tuned cuz it will be back!

Tomorrow Only! 🇺🇸 🫡
In honor of Memorial Day all plants will be $2 each! There's still plenty left and it's the perfect time to get them in the garden. Stop by anytime dawn - dusk. There may be some showers in the forecast tomorrow but the stand will still be open!

A couple dozen plants left the stand this week but there's dozens more still available at our self-service stand! With this perfect spring weather it's a great time to get the garden planted out.

Our plants were all started indoors from seed, all organic & non-GMO, grown in very high-quality nutrient dense soil and there're all looking great. Come on by anytime dawn to dusk!

The Time Has Arrived! 🌶 🫑

With the warmer weather we brought up the rest of the plants including all our pepper plants. Several varieties of hot and sweet pepper plants now available at the stand! Get 'em before they're gone!

The Garden is in full swing! Primarily just our cool Weather crops + cover crop right now but we'll be getting our tomatoes in the ground as soon as we have some free time.

Speaking of which we still have LOTS of tomato plants available at the stand and we're at prime time to get them in the ground so come on by if you're in the area. In addition to the handful of tomato plant varieties we still have, there's a number of cabbage plants & a few varieties of broccoli, 2 varieties of lettuce (Rouge & Flashy Trout), Blue Kale and Collars Greens. We'll have several varieties of Peppers coming soon!

Happy Friday! We've still got plenty of plants available & plenty more lined up to take the place of the ones that yalls have alrwad6 taken home to your gardens.

Our tomato plants in particular are looking fatast8c but they're growing quick & eager to get in the ground. And we've got our pepper plants outside to harden off to the sun so they will soon be available too but we'll need to make room on the stand.

Thanks to everyone who came out for the first weekend of our stand! A lot of plants went and we still have a whole lot more left! Our stand is self serve and still cash only but we will likely get a venmo type service setup soon as well.

And stay tuned for our pepper plants to make it out to the stand soon, they're still in the warmth of our indoor setup but it'll soon be time for them to join the rest of the plants at the stand.

But in the meantime we still have plenty of various tomato plants, greens, broccoli and more!

The Mrs. and I were attending a baby shower today and she gets full credit for this one... she made the cake and all the other desserts in this country themed baby shower, some of which were displayed using the the crates I made from pallet wood a while ago.

Thanks to everyone who came out to the stand today, we hope everything produces well! Sorry we weren't able to see any of you, we were attending a family event but maybe we'll see yalls next time. Over a dozen plants left the stand and we'll be restocking what was bought with what's still out back! ..AND Peppers will be coming soon! Since peppers are a bit more sensitive to cold we'll be keeping the peppers in out warm indoor grow setup while bringing them out in the afternoons to for a couple hours to harden off to the sun. I expect we'll have them out at the stand by Memorial Day weekend so stay tuned!

Ok guys & gals... The Half-Acre Homestead farmstead is ready to open tomorrow morning! It is self-service (if we're around wete happy to come say hello) and cash only at the moment. You're welcome to stop by the stand anytime 8am - 6pm and we're located at 89 Verdugo Street, West Springfield.

All plants were grown from organic non-GMO seeds and potted in high quality nutrient dense soil.

Everything will be available that's on the typed out list except the following...

Peppers- (with night temps still in the 40's we're letting them grow out a little more in the more ideal warmer temps of our indoor setup).

Herbs- (a number of our herb starts aren't up to the standards we'd like. We will potentially plant our some more in the coming days/weeks).

We're Almost Ready!

We've been putting on the finishing touches and plan on rolling out our little farmstsnd Saturday morning on Verdugo Street in Eest Springfield, just in time for Mother's Day Weekend! We'll have plant starts out for purchase from about 9am - 5pm.

Today i just finished building and installing the cash box for the stand. It will primarily be a self- service honor system but if We're outside working on something we're happy to come say hello and answer any questions as nest as we can. But if you don't see us and want to get in touch anyways feel free to shoot us a message here on the Half-Acre Homestead page!
