We congratulate Heather Meyer on her snow sculpture of a coatimundi. Heather incorporated food coloring to achieve the color of the coati and has won 2 “all access day passes”.

🚌 Are you ready for a SPRING field trip?

Our spring field trips book quickly and some are already reserved from last year. Give us a call to get your classes on the calendar. Field trips are $10 per student/chaperone. School staff/personnel are free. 30 min rotating sessions keep your students fully engaged and learning about animals, habitats and other areas of your curriculum. We book Monday through Fridays in April and May. 🐪 🐒 🦜 🦉

A community trend is emerging, where people are building snowmen for a contest, and we're all about it. Ryen was an art teacher, so we want you to showcase YOUR creativity.

❄️ Move beyond the traditional snowman and create snow-animals.

❄️ Take a picture of it and put it in the comments on this post.

On the bright side all animals are nice and warm, doing great. Some even enjoying the snow.

Whooo’s ready for Art with Athena? (See what we did there? 🦉)

Join us on January 25th at 6 PM for a unique paint night experience! Meet Athena, our Eurasian Eagle Owl. Adults may even get to hold this beautiful bird of prey. Participants may also interact with other small animals inside our Discovery Center. Painting will be lead by retired art teacher, Rhonda Willett. The painting class will offer light refreshments. Adults 18 and over can participate for $50, while children 6-18 can join for $40 (accompanied by a paying adult). Children will paint on 11x14 canvas, while adults will paint on 16x20.

Athena is scheduled to make her television debut sometime this year. This morning, we taped another segment with NOW in the NATI at Fox19 studios, featuring our stunning Eurasian Eagle Owl. Despite the studio environment and bright lights, Athena performed like a champ. We are proud of her progress in navigating new surroundings and growing increasingly confident and comfortable as an ambassador.

Our first babies for the new year! The mouse we posted a couple of days ago delivered 13 healthy babies!

Our friends at The Farmers Wife Garden Barn VIP at Erwin Farms and Corn Maze have provided today’s enrichment for some of the animals. The repurposed Christmas trees are introducing new textures and aromas that the animals are enthusiastically exploring. Some are even indulging in their delicious taste. 🎄 ♻️

🐭 Could this mouse be pregnant? JK, she definitely is and my prediction is that she will deliver a litter by tomorrow, or will these be our first babies for the new year? Just look at the size of that belly! 🐁 Any guesses on how many she will have?

The winter general admission season has come to a close. We would like to thank all our visitors for their support during the season. We truly appreciate you! Spring general admission will begin in April. Meanwhile, we still offer birthday parties, scheduled encounters, mobile events, evening classes and other events throughout the winter.
