Calling all Bulldog fans!! Meet Penelope, the English Bulldog! She is a sensitive girl who will need a patient family with out any other animals. Penelope, (aka Penny for short), is a little temperamental about her face and neck area being touched. We think its because she is tired of her eyes being cleaned all the time. She had cherry eye surgery back in 2020 and one of the cherry eyes came back. This one affects her vision because it produces eye mucus that needs to be wiped daily. This is the only medical issue we see with her at this time. We have been told that she is good with kids but have seen some aggression here at the shelter but more due to being in a cage, however she does change when she is out of it. Penny is up to date on shots, spayed and microchipped. We would like to place her in a home that knows and understands the breed and doesn't just want the breed. Let us introduce Miss Ginger! She is a 10 month old Chihuahua that is high energy and the biggest wiggle worm so your hand eye coordination should be in good shape. We are gearing toward an active young family that may or may not have kids, older would be better. Please understand that she is very small but not the easiest to handle and can be unintentionally nippy with excitement. Ginger was the only dog in the last home she was in so we are unsure how she is is with other animals. Ginger is a special diva dog that will need a special active family to tire her little legs out. She is spayed, up to date on shots, and microchipped. If interested please contact the us at 401-348-2618 or email [email protected]. We had some very exciting adoptions today. One was our very own Petunia, February pet of the month, and the two Guinea Pigs Alfie and Mega Tron. We would like to give a special shout out to Mona's House - A Place For Homeless Pets for taking on Petunia. We wish them all the best!

Meet our February Pet of the Month, Petunia! Petunia has been with the shelter for almost two years and that is no fault of her own, she is just an independent girl that lounges around the sanctuary. Recently, she has been diagnosed with Diabetes and will need an injection of medication twice a day. Residing at the shelter is tough because our hours do not permit medication spaced out over a 12 hour period, she will need to be in a home that can administer this for her. Petunia is a tough cat that allows only so much affection but with her beautiful eyes and face she will be grateful just to be in a home that can give her the proper medical attention. For now, we have her on diabetic food which she enjoys and she seems content with that for now. Petunia is 8 years old, spayed, up to date on shots, and microchipped. She is considered special needs because of her diagnosis and will require follow ups with a veterinarian, special food, and medication. Smokey is 13 years of age and with that we are looking at fostering him to a home and covering the financial costs, adoption is always an option too. We understand that simply adopting a senior dog comes with vet care and that can be concerning for some people. We are asking you to look beyond his age, lumps/bumps, and consider him to be a companion for whatever years he is willing to give to you. Of course we are looking for the right fit so that there is no chance he comes back. Please contact the shelter if you are interested. Thank you!

All in a days work! These poor raccoons were discovered by a RIDOT crew cleaning out catch basins in Bradford. The raccoons were swimming to stay alive- they fell in and couldnā€™t get out. Happy to help these critters go back home! And all ends well!!!

Meet Sweetie our March pet of the month! You will be in Luckiest šŸ€ person, people, or family if Miss Sweetie becomes apart of yours! She is 3-4 years of age, spayed, up to date on shots and microchipped. She loves to play ball but only with her people, she wonā€™t like it if another dogs wants to play.
