The seasons come and go faster then we like. It’s important to take some time to slow your roll and reflect on how it’s going, and what your getting out of it. This season for me I’ve come to realize is all about the connections, new and old. I want to bag a deer just like the rest of you, but I’m finding greater satisfaction and appreciation in the people that have found their way into my season, my 2025 stories and memories being made. Sorry for the long post but just want to highlight a few of those people.
This old jacket is one I inherited this year from my good friends Sam and Annie Christoni. The jacket belonged to Annie’s husband and Sam’s dad Tom Christoni, someone who played a prominent role in my teenage years who passed away back when Sam and I were in college. He is someone I will remember who had a great sense of humor, lived for a good time and was just like the rest of us deer hunters. It’s an honor to be able to cut some tracks in his jacket and is a nice reminder of all the great times I got to have over at the Christoni residence.
This custom savage was done by a friend of mine who’s been one of my biggest supporters. Paul ( ) has taken time to help me at some shows, has given me many words of encouragement and is now a partner with DHT, having his services available for anyone looking to add some color and patterns to their skulls with hydro dipping and cerakote. He brought my vision to life with this savage and it puts a smile on my face when I’m out there trying to get a deer with it. Makes my hunt feel that much more special.
Last one is a shout out to Adrian over at - the dudes energy is contagious, and his program was exactly what I needed to get myself in a better routine, prioritize my health and be ready to walk miles in the deep Westfield snow in hopes to get my opportunity at a buck. That one conversation at Huntstock was all it took to get on board and do something that’s completely out of the norm for me. Couldn’t be more thankful!
Moral of the story is there’s more to it then just harvesting a deer - and always remind yourself of that every day your out there.
