Feline/Canine Friends is a 501 (c) (3) non- profit no-kill animal rescue. We work with our community to improve the lives/health of cats.

We support TNR by providing an effective humane way to reduce the number of free roaming cats in our community. Feline/Canine Friends, Inc. takes in cats and kittens to prepare them for adoption. We provide sanctuary to FeLV cats that would have been euthanized in other shelters. We take in cats with a variety of other issues that make them unadoptable. FCF also offers TNR services to the community.

How many of you have taken ONE of your cats to the vet, return home and suddenly all the other cats are being mean to the one that went to the vet, right? Well, this sweet mama was spayed Wednesday and when she was fully awake, we put her back with her baby, that very same baby that we listened to “meow, meow, meow” all morning after her mama was brought into prep and holding. Yep, she missed her mama, but nope, not gonna have that vet visit smell back in her cage!! Eventually the drama ended and baby got over herself!!

A sneak peak of which adult cats will be at the Petco adoption even this Saturday, come visit them! Dorie, the trio of orange girls ( Henna, Harlequinn, and Hesther), and sweet Bear. Claude is also pictured with the trio, he is avaliable for adoption but he will be staying at the shelter this weekend.

Our sweet boy, My Friend, from the K project had his left eye removed yesterday and this morning, he was all about starting his new life! Our heart is warmed when we see cats like My Friend get a new beginning. Please consider donating to your local rescue so we can continue to help the vulnerable get a chance to have a new brighter tomorrow.

Come out to our Adoption Event tomorrow (December 1) from 11-2 and meet My Friend! (Yes, that is his name, My Friend)
He isn’t quite ready for adoption as he is scheduled to have his left eye removed on Monday, but he is bored and wants to get out and meet a potential adopter. He is about one year old and came from the K project where we worked with over 70 cats this year. He is super friendly and gets along well with other cats.
We also have a number of kittens and a few other adults hoping to meet their new families tomorrow.

Adoption event at Petco in Plover this Sunday 11AM-2PM December 1. There will be many new kittens and a few adults will be available for adoption.
Our two sweet girls Patti Cake and Raven are still waiting. They are about 2 years old, Raven super kitten like and Patti Cake a bit more mature.

We recently heard from Franklin’s new adopter, thank you for the update!

My family added Franklin to our family from the Petco in Plover and we are giving you an update on how hes doing. He gets a long great with both dogs and everyone in the household, he loves to snuggle with my daughter especially, he purrs really easily, and loves to run around and explore the whole house, really really loves strings too

UPDATE: Hubert was adopted today with Quinoa!!! Thank you 😊 for giving both these boys a furever home! Meet Hubert. This sweet boy was born early June this year and was somewhat of a runt and was at the shelter for several months before he was big enough to be neutered and placed up for adoption. He has been at Petco for over a month now and no applications. He is a super friendly, curious playful boy. He is neutered, FeLV negative, vaccinated, microchipped and his adoption fee is $125. If you have been considering adopting a kitten, this sweet boy would fit into most any household. He gets along well with other cats, and is young enough to adapt to a home with a dog.

Come out to the Adoption event Sunday at Petco in Plover and meet Clove and Cedar. Clove is about one year old female torbie and Cedar is about one year old MALE brown tabby. I misspoke on the video, he is indeed a boy and a very good boy. Sometimes our adult cats get overlooked during kitten season. These two sweet kitties have plenty of kitten left in them but without the “kling-on” of a baby!!

Our Story

Marie Valentino, a retired school teacher, founded Feline/Canine Friends, Inc. in 1989, as a shelter primarily for unwanted pets with an emphasis on special-needs animals. The shelter was originally located in Grand Marsh, WI,which now houses most of our non-adoptable & special-needs cats. In 2014 we built a large facility in Westfield WI to expand our organization.

In 2011 Feline/Canine Friends became an Adoption Partner with Petco in Plover, WI. This partnership has been instrumental in finding adoptive, loving homes for over 200 cats per year!

All the animals at the shelter receive medical care from board certified veterinarians. They are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and tested for FIV & Feline Leukemia. Once medically cleared and socialized they are available for adoption (with an approved application) either through our shelter in Westfield, Wisconsin or at Petco in Plover, Wisconsin.
