The American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior (AVSAB) recently came out with an official position statement on humane dog training that aligns with our organizational position statement on training. This statement reviews the current literature on the effects of training style on animal welfare, training effectiveness, and the dog-human relationship.

Based on current scientific evidence, AVSAB recommends that only reward-based training methods are used for all dog training, including the treatment of behavior problems.

To learn more about our behavior program, please visit mspca.org/behavior

Dr. Leavis has been a great addition to the Nashoba team for the past year of her internship. She always made time to give her patients extra love when their families could not be in the building. Her great communication with clients shined during curbside service. She was always there with a smile and encouraging words for her clients and coworkers. We are sad to say goodbye but we wish her the best of luck at her next clinic! While we are so sad for her internship to end but we can’t wait to introduce everyone to our new interns soon! 🐾

We are excited to announce that we are going to be allowing clients in to the building for Doctor visits with their pets! The new protocols are below...
-Please text us when you arrive at the clinic.
-When an exam room is available we will bring you in for the visit. Two people per Doctor visit will be allowed in the exam room.
-We are still requiring masks to be worn at all times while you are in the clinic. We are located in the school and must follow these protocols.
- Once the exam is complete we will have you wait in your car. Due to our clinics small size we are continuing to keep the lobby closed.
- Once the exam is finished we will bring your pet and any meds/food out to the car.
***Clients who are not comfortable being present for exams are still welcome to do curbside visits.***
Once again we thank you for your patience and understanding! We can not wait to see everyone in person again. 🐾
