Who could not fall in love with this face? Huge thank you to who ever donated this elephant toy for Moose! He had such a 'ball' with it!

Moose has been looking for a home for nearly half the year😔

All it takes is one person to fall in love and commit. We know there's his person out there - we just need them to find him!

Moose is about 1.5 years old. The most affectionate love bug ever. He's also very much a mouthy puppy and very strong.

He's a 66-pound ‘lap dog’ at heart and happiest when snuggled up close to you, getting to chase toys and having something in his mouth😆

He was found running around Southwest Detroit. The kind woman who took him in, had no way to provide him a permanent home as she was soon being forced out of her own home. She reached out to Kristen, our Detroit Pets For Life Director, for a miracle.

Fast forward and now he needs his next miracle - a loving home! He’s so ready to bring joy to a family willing to open their hearts to his playful spirit.

Besties! Fosters Kabuki (striped) and Kodama have been waiting over a year for their new home! Both are playful and love being pet. Kodama loves cuddles. Kabuki is such a curious boy~

Kabuki is allergic to chicken (we think) and Kodama survived FIP. Kodama is a deaf wild child with loads of energy, but who loves cuddling. 🥰

As you know, we hold two low-cost spay/neuter clinics per month. We released the December dates the other day and they were filled in 48 hours. This is how very important every one of these spots are. We are fortunate to announce we have six female spots and four male spots that just opened, up first come first serve, for this Saturday. Go directly to our reservations page on our website, also keep an eye on our page for available spots to be released the first week in January.

🥶 COLD WEATHER & CATS HOUSES 🥶

A simple tote can mean the difference between life and death!! There are lots of options of cat houses out there, but even just a large Rubbermaid-type tote can really help keep them warm.

🚨 STRAW ONLY!! NEVER USE BLANKETS OR HAY!! 🚨

🐈 Overstuff with straw. Just don't fill too much so kitty can't burrow in.

🐈 Put in an area out of direct wind.

🐈 Do not put food or water inside.....cats don't like to eat where they sleep.

🐈 Put tote off the ground if possible, on boards or even a pallet.

🐈 Check the straw periodically to make sure it doesn’t get wet. If moisture does get in, change with fresh straw.

While we are all getting excited about the holiday season, I finally have a minute to inquire. We are looking to put together a committee of people who have extra time and would be willing to transport kitties to special visitation locations like local assisted living homes, and local libraries that have asked for our interaction. If you are very comfortable handling Cats and want to make a difference in the community, send us a message. I would like to get this going soon. The visits that we have been able to do have been extraordinarily rewarding, but with a small staff and limited personal time, I need to hand this project over to someone able to commit and follow through. We will provide all support needed and normally we would only send four or five kitties with you and of course we would pick some of our best behaved babies. Thank you for helping us continue to make a difference in our local community.

It's Cyber Monday, and Santa has a special request! This holiday season, he wants to drop a sleigh full of toys at DACC for all the shelter dogs and cats. Each dog will have the opportunity to walk through and pick their very own special toy, while the cats will receive their gifts in cozy holiday cheer.

But Santa can’t do it alone—he needs your help to make sure his sleigh is fully stocked with toys for all the animals. Friends of DACC is asking for donations of new dog and cat toys by December 22 to ensure every shelter pet receives a gift this Christmas.
