👋 We had a blast hosting students from Workforce this week!

From learning about the fabrication process to getting hands-on in the lab, these curious minds got an up-close look at what it takes to build custom orthotic and prosthetic devices for animals. 🐾

This week's is Mya being casted for a custom tarsus orthosis from . The first steps in having a custom orthosis made starts with measurements of the limb and a cast molding. Cathryn and Dr. Kern are rubbing the cast to ensure it hardens and forms around the limb. Once the cast has hardended we take the cast off and send it out to OrthoPets: Orthotics and Prosthetics for Animals and a custom orthosis is made. Most of our patients do very well during the casting procsedure and are given lots of pets and treats.
