An update from Ivy Woods Feline Sanctuary:
First and foremost, we would like to thank everyone who has donated to our Sanctuary so far- we appreciate your help and support very much!!! We have reached our goal and are now also hoping to win some prizes from the MightyCause platform! With some extra cash on our paws, we can do even more for our beloved cats - like getting some luxury heated cat houses we have been admiring from afar before...
To help us win a prize, please donate now!

Since we got feedback from some Ivy Woods Feline Sanctuary's supporters having an issue with donating using their credit card on Mighty Cause platform, we would like to offer a couple more links, besides Mightycause, that might help those who had an issue:

You can use our website directly to make a donation:
https://ivywoods.org/

Or donate using RallyUp platform:
https://go.rallyup.com/helpivywoodsfelines

We hope this helps! And for those who have not donated yet, there is still time to do it now!
As Wink says: "Yay! We can buy heated cat houses for the Back Deck now, with the help of your donations!"
And he seems pretty happy about it- and so are we!

With very meowch appreciation,

Ivy Woods Board of Directors- and Wink (on behalf of all Ivy Woods Felines)

We are saying GoodBye to Orange Oscar :-(
Oscar, male orange tabby, was surrendered to SPCA in 2015. He was not three years old yet. Owners couldn't deal anymore with his accidents around the house. He was also not interested in scratching posts and attempted to escape a few times. He was active, loved to play with toys, but could bite if not comfortable with a human. He appeared to be unadoptable and after a short month was rescued by Ivy Woods Feline Sanctuary.

For 9 years Oscar enjoyed freedom and acceptance at our Sanctuary. He hanged out and even had squabbles with his roommates once in a while. Wearing a calming color helped him to behave. He lived in walkout room and always greeted visitors with affection.

Oscar began to decline earlier this year. He was loosing weight, even though still eating well and having energy to run around. Despite multiple vet visits, meds and diet watch, our dear Orange Oscar crossed the rainbow bridge Friday overnight.

RIP Orange Oscar 🌈🐾
We will miss you buddyπŸ˜“

Just like people, cats join cliques simply because they want to have friends who share their interests like eat, sleep, take walks or lounging on the picnic table.

One might often see Alistair, Oliver and Nesbit hang out together at their favorite spot.

Please meet Alistair as brown tabby, Oliver as orange tabby and Nesbit as black tuxedo.

Our Story

Ivy Woods is a rural sanctuary for feral cats rescued from the streets of Baltimore City and the surrounding suburbs. The sanctuary exists primarily due to the generosity of one very hard-working woman. Theresa created this place so that the cats she found on the streets of Baltimore would have a safe place to live. She provided a beautiful piece of farmland near Westminster. There are now approximately 100 cats thriving on the property. We are excited about the future of the Ivy Woods Feline Sanctuary. Our focus is to continue to provide a home for unadoptable cats, while partnering with area non-profits to find our adoptables loving family homes. Our biggest challenges are keeping our kitties in food, clean bedding and litter. As we take a lot of the hard-luck cases, medical care is very expensive. We are grateful for your donations, well-wishes, support and "likes".

An update: Our dear Theresa is now a volunteer. She still is very actively involved with Ivy Woods Sanctuary, but she chose to semi-retire as Sanctuary Caretaker, and is no longer on our Board of Directors. The new owner of the Ivy Woods Feline Sanctuary is Lana Finn Jacoby. Since Lana has a full time job, we have to rely on the services of live-in Caretakers.

The mission of Ivy Woods Feline Sanctuary remains the same: it is to provide a safe, caring haven for feral, stray and displaced cats for life. Our facility has a large enclosed area with barns and shelters where the cats can roam freely and safely. All cats are neutered/spayed, tested for FIV/FeLV Leukemia, and given shots. Veterinary care is provided to all cats as needed and a care provider/facilities manager lives on site.
