Dog volunteers join staff from the canine department so they can keep each outing consistent. This week we learned mental stimulation is just as important as physical exercise, and how to anticipate a reaction before it happens.If you’ve been trained in dog walking, join us on Wednesday afternoons for behavior training!

More updates from our fire dogs! This superstar foster took in four babies and gave them names that all mean “fire.” Vahni and Enya were scared of being outside on the grass at first but a day or two with the foster’s resident dogs had them running with the best of them! A spa day and a surgery later, all four are doing great! We are continuing to take medical donations for our fire dogs’ ongoing care. See our website for details!

We are beyond proud of our team. Animal control and HSCC worked in perfect unison during our recent fire emergency intake. Every employee was on hand and ready to work.
