We’re so grateful for the amazing outpouring of wet dog food donations. Every can means the world to our elderly dogs and is a treat for the rest of the gang, too.

Stark - #32112
Male | 5 Years Old | 50 Pounds | NO CATS
‼ Available after 6/30/25 ‼

Stark is a sweet, older gentleman who’s looking for a peaceful home where he can soak up the love—and the sunshine. While he still has his playful moments, he’s more of a nap-in-the-sun, belly-rub kind of guy these days. He adores people and has gotten along with every dog he’s met so far, though a meet-and-greet is always recommended. Stark knows several commands like sit, paw, down, and wait, and he’s a total pro at fetch. After some fun, he’s happiest curled up next to you for snuggles. He walks great on a leash, takes treats ever-so-gently, and truly just wants to be your loyal shadow.

Stark must go to a cat-free home, but he promises to give you all the love you could ever need.

Want to meet him? Call 304-291-7267 ex. 2 to schedule an appointment!

Blue - #32074
Male | 1.5 Years Old | 50 Pounds
‼ Available after 6/30/25 ‼
Blue is a bright and playful pup who’s already mastered an impressive list of tricks—he knows sit, paw, down, speak, and drop it, and he plays fetch like a total pro! This smart cookie is eager to please and always up for learning something new, especially if treats and praise are involved.
While Blue could use a little help refining his leash manners, he makes up for it with the cutest zoomies you’ve ever seen and a love for butt scratches that’s absolutely irresistible. He thrives on attention and will happily soak up every bit of love you have to give.
Blue’s got the brains, the personality, and the heart to be an incredible companion. All he needs now is someone who will help guide him the rest of the way.

🚨 West Virginia Law Reminder:
Under WV Code §61-8-19, it is illegal to leave an animal confined in a cruel or inhumane way — this includes a hot car.

You could face criminal charges.
It’s not just about the law — it’s about doing what’s right.
Don’t risk a life or a record. Leave pets at home.

Leaving a dog in a hot car isn’t just a bad idea —
It’s cruel. It’s dangerous. And in West Virginia, it’s ILLEGAL.

Under WV Code §61-8-19, you can face criminal charges for confining an animal in an inhumane way — like a hot vehicle.

🔥 What should you do if you see a dog left in a hot car?

1. Call 911 – Time is critical in extreme heat.
2. 911 will dispatch the necessary people
3. Take down the vehicle’s make, model, color, and license plate.
4. Alert nearby businesses – They may be able to locate the owner over the intercom.
5. Stay on scene until help arrives, if it’s safe to do so.

Not only inhumane — but illegal.
‼ Speak up. Step in. Save a life. ‼

Imagine being trapped in an oven with no way out.
That’s what it feels like for a dog left in a hot car — even for just a few minutes.

Dogs can’t sweat like humans. Once their body temp rises, it can lead to:
🦴Seizures
🦴Organ failure
🦴Death

Every summer, dogs die in parked cars. Please don’t let yours be one of them.

If you’re running errands, leave your pet safely at home.
And if you see a dog in distress, call 911 immediately.

We’re critically low on wet dog food, and our pups are howling for help! 🐶💔
Our elderly dogs need it, and the rest of the crew definitely appreciates it.

It’s too hot for Spot, even if you think you’ll "only be a minute."

Did you know?
On a 75°F day, the inside of a car can reach 100°F in just 10 minutes.
Even with the windows cracked, it’s deadly for pets.

Dogs can suffer from heatstroke, organ failure, and death — all in a matter of minutes.
🚫 Never leave your pet in a parked car. Not even for a quick errand.
