It was a terrific weekend watching the human-animal bond on grand display! Dog/handler teams working together playing agility at this level is like watching professional dancers ❤️🐾💃
Finals were not in the cards for Team WestRover this year at AKC Invitationals, but there were plenty of smiles and ribbons… along with motivation and knowledge of what to work on before the National Championship in March 😃🏆💪🐾

Last week we found something truly “shocking” on x-rays of a pup with a tummy ache! Thankfully, we are prepared for things like this and Dr. Whiten came to the rescue. The battery and rock were removed by gastroscope without surgery and our patient made a speedy recovery 😃
Be sure to keep toys, laundry, trash, and other tempting things safe from curious chewers… 🐾

Come join us for lunch today with the WBA at CCW right across HWY 280 from the practice. There will be presentations by Mayor Riggins and David Bobo, President of the Shelby County School Board. Lunch will be catered by MO’s Hawg House. There is no fee to attend, great fellowship, news, and door prizes!

Our theme for Vet Tech Week 2024 is “Celebrating our Unicorns”. We have a group of LVTs that are truly extraordinary! Our nursing team is an integral part of advanced procedures and diagnostics we could not provide without them. They assist in soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, regenerative medicine, laparoscopic surgery, endoscopy, laser surgery, class 4 therapy laser, PulseVet shock wave therapy, ultrasound, radiography, advanced dentistry, and much more. Of course they provide excellent nursing care for our patients and are a key link for pet parents too ❤️
This week (and every week) we celebrate our credentialed nursing team and students: Trinity Davis (LVT student), Meaghan Douglas, LVT, Courtney Holt, LVT, MaryBrett Robinson (LVT Student), Sam Simmons (LVT grad student), Millie Vick, LVT, Nicole Vincent, LVT, Dixie Windsor, LVT.

This week we celebrate the critical role veterinary technicians serve in our profession! They are the heart of a practice who bring specialized skills, compassion, and dedication to work every day. We are blessed to have a strong team of five licensed veterinary technicians (LVT), one graduate preparing for the national board exam, and two students enrolled in program at Jeff State.

Copper and Mr. Jim enjoyed one of our last “tailgate exams” this morning. Very soon we will debut outdoor “Cabana Style” exam rooms! They will be perfect for patients that are anxious about traditional vet visits, or those that just want to enjoy nice weather with a perfect view of the NEW WestRover pool and agility fields. Just another step to make trips to the vet as fear free and FUN as possible 😃🐾❤️

Our Freshman and Senior teams were competitive and had some terrific runs but didn’t make the podium.
Our Sophomore “Team2Beat” is in finals today after winning FIVE individual awards. PHDelicious won TWO individual awards and just missed finals 🏆😃🏁
