NOVEMBER HOURS!🍁🍂

Hello! These are the updated hours for November.

We will be closing our office from Tuesday, November 7th at 11:30AM, until Monday the 13th at 9:00AM. We will be spending this time continuing our education in order to better care for your pets!

We will also be closed for the holiday on November 23rd and 24th.

Please plan accordingly this month to make sure your pet stays happy and healthy! You can do this by planning to pick up any needed food / medications during business hours.

We are here to stay, too! You’ve heard that the Lamberts plaza properties in Westwood and Dorchester have sold. The grocery store will be staying for at least ten years and Veterinary Services of Westwood also has lease options into the next decade. So don’t worry — we don’t plan on going anywhere. We just have a different landlord!

Thank you for everyone’s kindness and patience during this difficult time for Dr. Thorne, whose father passed away suddenly on the Fourth of July. David Thorne was a kind and gentle soul, whose love for all creatures great and small rubbed off on Carrie. So proud of his daughter, David helped around the clinic as much as he could during his retirement. He decorated the clinic for every holiday, cleaned it two nights per week, and would leave his unique marks/messages for the clinic staff to see. David will be missed in this world — a world that could use more of his kindness, humanity, and love. I will post his obituary soon. — Joe (husband of Dr. Thorne).

It is VERY hot out there! Please stay cool and safe!

A heat emergency has been declared in the City of Boston from today, July 19th, through Thursday, July 21st. Nothing kills pets more during the summer months than heat stroke, so heat safety is extremely important for all of us! Here are some tips from Angell veterinarians to help keep your pets safe.

Above all else, PLEASE do not leave your pet in the car, even for just a few minutes with the windows cracked. It is dangerous for them and against the law.

If your pet exhibits the following signs. please contact your veterinarian and animal emergency service as these are signs of heat stroke and can prove fatal:

• excessive panting
• vomiting
• tiring easily
• diminished appetite
• lethargy
