About 3 weeks ago I saw where a volunteer for AARF and the Boyd Co Animal Shelter started posting wishlist for their dogs being housed at the shelter. Attached to each wishlist was the dogs photo. So in honor of our Lucy we just lost last week I wanted to make a Christmas box for one of the shelter dogs. So today I went out to AARF and I met Miku. She is absolutely the sweetest girl she is a 6 year old pit mix that is there because her owner passed away. Miku has been very depressed so when she saw me she was so extremely happy, her tail never stopped. She knew I was there for one on one with just her. So we took a walk in the pouring rain and then we came in and sat in the floor so she could enjoy her box of goodies. It made my breaking heart smile. My heart hasn't smile since last Mon when we had to let Lucy go.
The shelters and rescues are over run with beautiful, amazing dogs that only want love even if it's for a very short time so if you have a few extra dollars to spend and few minutes to spare I encourage you to go pickup something and head out to AARF or Boyd Co Animal Shelter and make a dogs day and yours too. You won't be sorry.

A few items needed are: blankets, treats, hard to destroy toys like Kong toys, Greenies and food. They use Purina dog chow.
