‼️Reminder that we are now offering laparoscopic surgery for your furry friends 30 pounds and above! This includes gastropexy, spay, abdominal cryptorchid (testicles haven’t descended), and internal biopsies. Below is some information on what a gastropexy is and its benefits!

Laparoscopic gastropexy is an elective procedure done to permanently fix the stomach to the body wall. This prevents a life-threatening condition called bloat, which is the abnormal twisting of the stomach.

Deep chested large and giant breeds that would benefit from this are Great Danes, Mastiffs, Doberman Pinschers, Boxers, Rottweilers and German Shepherds. Below is a picture of a Great Dane who had the procedure done recently.

These incisions are much smaller compared to a large abdominal incision that would result from the conventional surgical gastropexy. This pup is doing great and we want the best preventative care for yours as well!

We are thrilled to share that we are now offering The Librela injection for your canine friend who suffers from arthritis. If you like to learn more about the injection please reach out to schedule a consultation with a vet and receive the first injection. The injection is ever 4 weeks and after the initial injection you can make a tech appointment for the following injections. One of our technicians found a male parakeet yesterday at Pingree Elementary School. He has a leg band on his left leg. We’re keeping him at the hospital for now and he is doing well! Please contact us if you know anyone whose missing a parakeet!

Meet Spud!
Spud is an adorable puppy who is guessed to be about 6-months-old. This handsome guy has been thriving under the care of an amazing foster home and excellent trainer!

Spud came to us a nervous wreck. Clearly not socialized, he was unsure how to greet new people, dogs, and cats. He has worked so hard (treats help!) and is already more confident in himself. Spud has stopped chasing the foster homes cats and is now a gentleman who just ignores them and gives them their space, yay Spud!

Spud has worked so hard on his reactivity with other dogs. This was all due to his own insecurities. We think Spud could live with another, playful dog who is already confident and could show our pal that playing with other dogs is pretty great.

Given that he is working on his training, a home with teens or adults is preferred. We have total faith Spud will be fine in the future with children but we really want to set this young fella up for success.

Spud has done excellent with both housebreaking and crate training. He has an excellent routine with his foster dad and is a great sleeper at night. Spud loves toys and enjoys spending his time making sure every ounce of stuffing is removed. He is an excellent eater and sure does love treats, this makes him an excellent student.

This guy is going to be an excellent companion to someone looking for the ultimate pal.

Open hours are Wednesdays 1:30-6pm and Saturdays 10am-2pm for you to come view our adoptable pets. You can apply for an animal at the shelter during our open hours or online by emailing [email protected] and asking for an application.
