Mr Sancho got to go home yesterday to try his hand at Teal hunting.
I'm not sure who was more excited Sancho, the owner or the owners daughters. They all were ready to be together again.
We can't wait to see the pictures from opening day.

New facility update.
The driveway and pad are complete.
Forms are up. The guys worked hard getting the rebar tied and today they were digging the beams for the concrete.
Center point came out and marked the power pole locations and put us on a list for install.
We are truly blessed to see this coming together.
Much needed but puts a damper on my Friday plans..
90 felt like 85 this morning.
With the cooler air all the dogs did awesome with their training today. They all really enjoyed it and learned a lot.
The young dogs had three singles and a little pattern blind most of them have been working on.
The big dogs had a short blind, then a triple, then a long blind.
I got to snap a few pics so I figured I'd share..
Mr. Guts and Ms Scarlett showed a lot of progress today.
Last week Ms Ellie finished our 5 month basic Waterfowl Retriever program.
I received this picture and a report that she's responding to her owner very well with some fun at home training.
She's one pup that truly deserves a little couch time after giving me 100% effort every day during her training.
We can't wait to see her in action this duck season..
Our Deke and Nellie puppy Teal is on the right track. She's going to be amazing to watch work when she puts a few pieces to the puzzle together..
Summer break is over. School is starting back up for our Retrievers getting tuned up for hunting season or in Ms Willows case getting ready for her Hunter Retriever Champion title.
This morning she knocked some dust off with a 165yrd blind with 1 whistle..
Champion title here we come...

This makes it way easier for clients to get fresh dog food without having to schedule pick ups with us..

I moved the dogs back by the kennels to block the wind off the trailer.

Well that was an interesting night.
Just went out and looked, no real damage here. Just a few limbs down.
Rain gauge says 4.25in.
Ditches got cut yesterday and crowned the driveway, it's ready for rock.
Each day gets a little bit closer.
I can't believe it's really happening..
On to bigger and better!!

Ellie is currently in month 4 of our gundog training program and she is rocking right along.
She absolutely loves to get out and get to work everyday. We can't wait to see her in action this duck season..

Hailey and I we're just talking about it being Izzy's last day, she goes home tomorrow and she almost completely refused to leave her kennel to go out for her training session.
Too funny!!
Ms. Izzy has done amazing in the last 4 weeks. She came here a very shy dog and wasn't use to other dogs at all.
Now she knows SIT, STAY, HERE and Walks at a HEEL all off leash. And absolutely loves playing with other dogs now..
Cross your fingers, cross your toes, Construction will start on Monday.
But the way my luck goes we'll get a hurricane this weekend 🤪..

It's official!!!

Words can't describe how blessed we feel.
Traveled 4.5 hours to West Louisiana HRC Spring hunt test this past weekend.
Only had two dogs that needed tests.
Mr. Miller earned his 4th seasoned pass on Saturday getting him his Hunter Retriever title (HR) and ran again on Sunday for a 5th/extra ribbon.
Ms. Misty was so close Saturday but missed the ribbon by a few cast refusals on the blinds. But she came back Sunday a earned her 1st Seasoned pass..
So proud of both of these dogs. They now get to go home and be lazy for the summer and then return for more hunt tests in the fall..
And I can't thank my clients enough for allowing me the opportunity to work with these dogs. Without yall this wouldn't be possible.. Thank you!!
Little Ms. Maggie is rocking right along in our basic obedience program. She's been here almost 3 weeks and is completely off leash and knows SIT, STAY, HERE and HEEL very well.
She love to retrieve and plays get with the dogs at the kennels.

Ms Willow heads home today to get the summer off.
She'll be back this fall to work towards her HRCH Title.
This is one of our own Deke puppies. So proud of her. Everytime we step to the line she means business. She needed 3 passes for her HR title and did it 3 in a row, plus even ran an extra and nailed that one too..

HRCH Mac Daddy's Smoked Bacon (Sue) came to visit. It's such a joy to be able see all of our hard work paying off and be able to sit back and watch a good dog work and do what she loves to do.. She was the highlight of my day at 9:30 this morning..

Well we traveled to North Texas to Cow Town HRC spring hunt test this past weekend.
We left the kennels with quite a few goals in mind, but after a disappointing Saturday passing 1 of 4 in seasoned, I realized we would have to settle for smaller victories.
Ms Willow helded her own despite 20mph winds and sinking ducks, she came off the water test needing a perfect land test after lunch to pass, and that's where she shined and showed she was a Seasoned level dog, earning herself a Hunter Retriever (HR) title.
Sunday morning started with thunderstorm delays but as soon as that passed the club was ready to start. We went 3 for 5 in Seasoned on Sunday. Ms. Willow once again proved she knew what to do and earned an extra ribbon to take home.
Ms Oakley ran a flawless test for her title run, earning herself a Hunter Retriever (HR) title.
Mr. Miller came to play, crushing his marks and almost lining (passing) his blinds, but handled perfectly. Earning him Seasoned pass #3.
Once again and I can't say it enough THANK YOU owners for allowing me this opportunity to handle such fine animals.

For once in my career the ticket raffle was in my favor and we came of with lots of goodies.

Mr. Miller running his 2nd ever Triple this morning. I decided catch if from the birds eye view with the drone. Wind is left to upper-right in the video, you can see the drag back of birds 3 scent catch Miller as he went for bird 1. Being its his 2nd time running these kind of marks I stopped him from go to the area of bird 3 and casted him back to bird 1. He ran a great blind (no refusals) and was super steady on the walk-out. Very nice dog I get the privilege of handling in tests..
Deke and Nelli puppies are growing fast..

We are having a blast training this set of young dogs. I can't wait to see them in action this hunting season. This is Ms. Willow she's out of the Deke and Nelli litter.

Finally got Mr. Maverick's light switch to come on and he now understands what all the time on the force fetch table was about. I can't wait to start pile work and casting drills with this guy.. He'll be one to watch for sure..
Mr. Gunner is finishing up his training to be a dove hunting fool.. He's been doing awesome and is ready to truly find out what all this training is preparing him for in the dove field..

I just noticed I haven't posted in a little while, we've been so busy trying to beat the heat each day, plus we have quite a few puppies in training that are keeping us on our toes. If you haven't been by lately you will notice there are some new faces around the kennels. We were able to hire 2 young ladies (Roxy and Ady) to help with day to day operations and there even doin some training. It's such a relief having them here doing the remedial tasks allowing me to spend more time doing hands on training with your dogs. The video below is (Maverick) one of the many Deke puppies we have at the kennels right now. They're all doing awesome with training and absolutely love to get out and work.
