Students have been finding some creative ways to beat the heat lately. Learning new skills like braiding, ba****ck riding, and navigating obstacles are great ways to keep the learning fun and exciting without getting horses or riders too hot and sweaty.

A little late on the social media post, but holy cow what a weekend! Riders from Hidden Lane Stable had a great time at the Boulder Valley Dressage at the Fairgrounds show! It was a show of firsts for everyone! New horse, new level, new to dressage shows... and everyone did fantastic!

🎉 Nabil and Nizhoni rocked it and qualified for RMDS championships at Training Level at their first USEF show ever!

🧊 Ice had his First Level debut this weekend with a 64% on Sunday; the baby horse is growing up!

💜 Kathy and Sara did a wonderful job with Iris, these ladies did their first dressage show!

🐴 Arlo tagged along and tried his hoof at a few tests, we're so excited to see him in the arena more next year!

Thanks to all of the volunteers and officials who make our Colorado dressage season possible! This truly is a favorite show of ours every year.

Show Prep Week was a great success! Riders gained SO much knowledge in a short amount of time, it was incredible to see such growth in these young riders! Thank you to all of the amazing guests who helped us throughout the week! And a special thank you to Hidden Lane Stable for hosting us!

Monday- Riders rode in pairs, some of them for the first time ever! We introduced new horses, learned the patterns for the show, and practiced showmanship. Campers also got to practice their braiding skills for the first time.

Tuesday- Campers made a check list to make sure they wouldn't forget anything when packing for a horse show, then they had to load everything into the trailer; even the horse! Ms. Tia was nice enough to join us for lunch and teach us about all the different classes at a horse show and what we could expect to see. We even learned how the different classes are judged!

Wednesday- Thanks Dr. Finn for adjusting Arlo and teaching us about equine chiropractic work. Campers got to learn about the benefits for the horse, as well as a bit of career exploration. After our ride Ms. Erika came to teach us a little bit about the importance of rider fitness and how we can help ourselves help our horses.

Thursday- Ah! The week is coming to a close and we have so much to do still! Riders were busy busy bees riding, cleaning tack, bathing horses, and polishing up their showmanship skills.

Friday- Today's the day! Its show time! Riders worked together to get their horses show ring ready! Clean tack went on clean horses with beautifully braided necks. These young riders really did well and showed excellent horsemanship and sportsmanship!

Give those hard working school ponies an extra scratch ❤️

Give those hard working school ponies an extra scratch ❤️

They are never just RIDING SCHOOL PONIES❤️🐴

One day you may move onto bigger, fancier horses, but never forget the school horse who made you, as without them, you wouldn’t be able to ride anything at all.

The patient soul that tolerated your bouncing while you figured out how to sit the trot.

The kind mare that didn’t walk off when you stumbled up the mounting block, trying to get your foot in the stirrup.

The sweet gelding that picked up the trot even though your body was telling him to do the exact opposite.

The saintly angel that never spooked, which was a dam good thing because your balance was precarious at best.

Too often we forget where we came from. We move on to the next chapter in our lives and say, “Oh my gosh, I’m learning so much! I’m going so far! I could never do this kind of thing on that old school horse!”

But infact you could, you were just not ready to do all these things back then.

But that school horse gave you the confidence to move forward. That school horse took care of you in all respects and allowed you to take the time you needed to find your way. You couldn’t have become the rider you are today without that riding school horse, always remember to love them unconditionally for our riding school horses are what help start your dream, make dreams come true and get you ready for those bigger dreams 🐴

Help our local tack store find their new home!

Help our local tack store find their new home!

The Grey Tail benefitting The Baco Fund is on the hunt for a new store location!

Due to the sale of Table Mountain Ranch, we need to move out of our current store space. We are now actively looking for a new space to house the tack shop that funds the 501 c 3 non-profit, The Baco Fund.

We wanted to reach out to our wonderful customer base to see if they might know of something that would suit our needs.

Our wish list includes the following:

- Close in proximity to our current location in Golden, 80403
- 950-1200 square feet
- Minimal to no stairs would be ideal
- A dedicated office/storage room
- Parking for several cars (Typically there are no more than 4 cars during store hours.)
- Heat & electric
- Access to water and a restroom (does not need to be in the space)
- Secure location
- 3+ year lease
- Budget: Around $1500 with some utilities

This does NOT need to be a traditional retail storefront space and we can be very creative! A dedicated space at a farm, a warehouse/flex space, insulated steel building, an office space with a more open floor plan, etc. would be great!

The store is open to the public on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10 am to 4 pm. Staff is also at the store for several hours a few times a week in addition to store hours.

Please send us a message if you know of something that might work!

Thank you so much for your continued support!!!

A great opportunity offered by RMDS!

We are seeking a young person to assume the
role of the editor of this spotlight. The Spotlight Writer interviews another young person who is
an RMDS member, which is published in the Ecentaur. The interviews are conducted quarterly
and serves to introduce and update our members about our amazing youth. This is a great
opportunity for a young member to get to know other riders, learn new skills and build up their
college application with real life experience. For more information about this position, please
contact Rebecca via Facebook messenger (Rebecca Aaron).

NOTE: RMDS gives volunteer hours for articles you write. Interested in contributing for the
ecentaur? We would love member articles, RMDs news, and interviews of our members If you
have a hard time getting your volunteer hours in, this is a great opportunity to get those
completed.
