Abundant Acres

Abundant Acres We are a family farm aimed at cultivating our roots of integrity. Integrity in what we eat, our use of the land, and counting our blessings from God!

Abundant Acres...so named because of our faith. Jesus Christ in John 10:10 says, "A thief comes only to steal, slaughter, and destroy. I've come that they may have life, and have it abundantly." We are truly blessed to borrow this patch of land for a time and be able to grow and raise plants and animals that provide food for not only ourselves, but now for you too! If it is the Lord's will, we are

working towards building up the soil, which in turn will nourish our plants, which further leads to proper nutrients for animals and eventually a healthy family! Ultimately, we will be able to do this without hormones, antibiotics, preservatives, or chemicals, but please be patient with us as we work on locating organic inputs for those items we aren't able to produce on our own. And of course, we invite you out to Abundant Acres where you can see firsthand what we are about, get your questions answered, get some wonderful food for you and your family, and enjoy reconnecting with the land! And maybe, just maybe, you can give some lovin' to the animals too!

For those of you who viewed the post that was sent out at 8, please disregard. We have a ton going on this summer, including a possible relocation and we weren't sure we were going to be able to provide the same service we have in the past. However, things are working out better and so we will continue on! The message was sent out in error automatically this morning. Again, we are still in business and are going to make a go of it!

I just wanted to share some of the pictures I took from around the farm yesterday. The sun was out the mud is almost dry and the grass is green and growing like crazy, so we have lots of happy animals!

Help! These little girls are two weeks old and we have not named them yet. The twins I, Scott Boersma, am holding are daughters of Mocha, and we need help coming up with coffee themed names. You can see one of the twins going into their house, and also one of them nursing from Mocha. The other goats in the background have already been named.

Well, it's a little over a week until the big day...the big day when everyone grabs their family-size bag of chips, their favorite drink, and they stare at a TV screen for several hours. Some watch to cheer on their team while others are ironically waiting for the commercials! Well, it's no secret that we live in Broncos country and everything around here is turning orange and blue! Unfortunately, most store-bought food is dyed that color...yuck! What an opportunity to try some new or rarely eaten foods with REAL ingredients! We also know that many of you are simply too busy to experiment with this idea and that is okay, we will do it for you! Presenting:

TEAM THEMED SUPERBOWL SUPERFOOD!

Following is a listing of the items we have available for consumption on Superbowl Sunday. We can sell items individually or for a variety of party sizes. Our best buy is $50 (plus tax), for you and five of your friends (serves AT LEAST 6 HEARTY eaters) to enjoy an entire afternoon of eating pleasure, including a meal, snacks, and even dessert as detailed below:

"HERE, KITTY KITTY" CHICKEN FAJITAS: Lure in the Panthers with the temptation of our birds! Lightly seasoned, shredded, Abundant Acres raised chicken, organic onions, and organic ORANGE bell peppers just waiting to "huddle" together in our homemade BLUE corn tortillas!

CARROT "COIN TOSS" SALAD: A bowlful of lightly steamed, organic ORANGE carrots basking in a slightly sweet and sour tomato based dressing. It won't be a "toss up" if you like this or not!

"STADIUM" FRUIT PIZZA: With a sugar-cookie crust and cream cheese sauce, you won't be able to resist our collection of BLUE and ORANGE fruits that top this pizza including mandarin oranges, cantaloupe, peaches, and blueberries!

"EXTRA POINTS" PEACH LEMONADE: Enjoy our "2 point conversion" of classic lemonade infused with the sweet, subtle flavor of peaches. This ORANGE colored beverage will cleanse your palette for more to come!

So the meal was tasty, but now you need some snacks for the big game...here ya go:

"KICKIN'" BLUE AND ORANGE TORTILLA CHIPS WITH CHEESY SAUCE: We "kicked" up those BLUE corn tortillas a sizzle and now they are debuting as chips! And they also have an "on-side kick"...meet our homemade ORANGE pumpkin tortillas chips! Both can be dipped in our cheesy dip produced from Abundant Acres milk (Those Clydesdale horses have nothing on our milk-producing momma cows!)

"EXPLODING FOOTBALL": There will be no "deflategate" controversy here...an entire loaf of our fresh made bread, cut like a bloomin' onion and topped with Monterey jack cheese, green onions, poppy seeds, and Abundant Acres butter, baked to perfection! "Catch" this before it's gone!

GINGERBREAD "MANNINGS" AND GINGERBREAD "SNAPS" WITH PUMPKIN DIP: These men and football shaped gingerbread cookies are a quick item to "down" before the next play! Don't "pass" on the fluffy ORANGE pumpkin dip...you'll just end up "running" for more!

"COACHING" COOKIES: Yes, the icing on these cookies contains some of that dreadful dye, but a little bit is better than a whole day's worth of it right?! And you might be spending more time playing with this food than eating it...this is a set of 27 cookies with a cookie bearing the number of each one of the starting offensive, defensive, and special teams players on the roster. Make up your own plays, or coach the team to victory from your own living room! There will also be a $2 refund for videos posted on this site of adults actively setting up plays with these cookies!

And now the hard work is done, and hopefully they won because there is dessert to partake in yet!

DON'T MAKE TOO MUCH FUN OF OTHERS "POKE" CAKE: This cake can finish out your celebration with this simple white cake which is bursting inside with BLUE and ORANGE layers of fruity goodness!

and finally...chill out with

"COOL DOWN" BLUEBERRY AND ORANGE Sherbet: After a day of heavy eating, a cool slide of this sherbet down your throat will fill in any remaining spaces and the pairing of BLUE blueberry pineapple sherbet with ORANGE orange sherbet is a fun ending to an adventurous day!

So there it is...our Superbowl success plan! As with all foods from Abundant Acres, they are produced in accordance with the Wyoming Food Freedom Act and are not inspected, licensed, or certified and must be sold to an informed end consumer within the State of Wyoming. Thanks for supporting your local farmer!

We deliver to Cheyenne, Wheatland, and Chugwater. Deliveries will be scheduled upon order completion.
