Did your pet wake you up early today? โฐ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿฑ

Youโ€™re not alone! With the time change, many pets need a few days to adjust (and letโ€™s be real, some people too ๐Ÿ™‹)

Pets donโ€™t use clocks like we do. Their daily routine is guided by their circadian rhythm, a biological clock that helps regulate when they eat, sleep, go potty and everything else in their day. Suddenly feeding and walking them an hour "later" than their internal schedule can feel unsettling and confusing.

Here are some ways to make the transition easier on your pet this upcoming week:
โœ… Shift feeding and walk times gradually
โœ… Add enrichment or playtime to distract from early hunger cues
โœ… Offer an extra potty break, especially for puppies and seniors
โœ… Stay consistent and patient, they've got this!

Just like us, pets benefit from a gentle transition and a little extra reassurance while their internal clocks reset. ๐Ÿ’™

Happy Halloween from some of our festive staff and patients! ๐Ÿ‘ป๐ŸŽƒ

A few of our patients had photo shoots in their pet safe costumes. Lucy, Juno and Olive are all part of a Batman theme, Minnie the sheriff, Olive as Count Catula and then there's Piper. Piper is hoarding treats from the kids (but, ahem, she will not eat it so we don't have to treat her for chocolate toxicity ๐Ÿซ๐Ÿ™ƒ)

Let's see your pet pics! โฌ‡

But my humans noticed and rushed me off to the vet. Thatโ€™s when the regret hit. They gave me medicine that made me throw up. Ack! Out came my sock! ๐Ÿฅต

I donโ€™t get it. Everyone clapped like I had won the lottery. Fine, you can have your sock back. ๐Ÿ™„ Itโ€™s a littleโ€ฆdamp.

Foreign body crisis averted! No x-rays needed and definitely no surgery thanks to the quick action from my family that was supervising me.

Would I do it again? Possibly ๐Ÿ˜ฌโ€

๐ŸŽƒ๐Ÿพ Halloween costumes can be fun for us, but scary for our pets! Can you tell if your furry friend is comfortable in a costume? ๐Ÿ‘€

If your pet isnโ€™t a fan of elaborate costumes, try cute bandanas, themed collars, or simple coat-like costumes.

Costume safety tips:
โ€ข Shouldnโ€™t limit mobility, sight, or hearing.
โ€ข Avoid pieces that can be chewed off and swallowed.
โ€ข Watch your petโ€™s body language โ€“ pacing, moving slowly, shaking, hunching, and ear and tail position can all signal your pet is uncomfortable.

Getting your pet ready:
โ€ข Start practicing now, pairing the costume with high value treats.
โ€ข Introduce noisy closures (like velcro) separately.
โ€ข Gradually increase the time they wear it each day.

If your pet repeatedly refuses to participate, that's ok!!! They might just prefer going costume-free! ๐Ÿค—

โœจ Support Staff Spotlight Series- Kennel Team โœจ

For many vet pros, working in the kennel is where their journey into veterinary medicine begins, and weโ€™re proud to have this crew caring for our patients every day of the week.

Monitoring the health and comfort of every boarding animal in our care is the most important part of what they do. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿพ

This fantastic group does that all while juggling walks (yep, even in the harsh weather), feedings, baths, administering medications, cleaning cages, and mountains of laundry.

Shout out to Natalie, Max, Audrey, and Nico who dodged the camera, but help to make this team shine!
