look who finally after 5 months started to love Karl, our sweet Louie.
Remember rescues take time to adjust, adapt and trust it may take as long as a year and even then it’s an on going process especially in Louie’s case of neglect. He lacks confidence and needs someone that is willing to be patient and give him the time he needs.
#sweetlouie did you🐾🖤
Justine’s last video of her and Louie saying goodbye before leaving for Florida for the summer for work. It’s absolutely heartbreaking, he so deserves his very own person that will love him till the end. My promise to Louie is to find his person, I will not give up, ever🐾🖤

One of the many surgical cases of the day.
This is what can happen if a dog’s testicle is retained and not removed.

Our patient, Keoki, from this past Thursday presented for a dental and during his pre op it was found that he had increased abdominal effort and breathing.
An X-ray was taken and a diaphragmatic hernia was found. See X-rays in comments. Lungs present black on X-rays, you notice the left side is not black that is his organs in his chest around his heart, the right side is normal. The second X-ray the heart is unable to be seen due to to the organs around it.
Dr Yurko was able to remove the organs from the chest and return them to their rightful place in the abdomin, inflate the lung and repair the hole.
This is a serious intense surgery. Dr Yurko is working close to the heart. In a very small space, Jeanette is manually breathing for Keoki until the hole is repaired and Amber is assisting Dr Yurko. Once the hole is repaired Keoki is then asked to breathe on his own, while we ALL hold our own breath……Keoki takes a deep breath then another!!! SUCCESS
Keoki was observed for 36 hrs and went home happy healthy and breathing must better yesterday!!!
I know I’ve been saying it for almost 25 years but we absolutely #lovewhatyoudowedo 🐾🖤
💥Look who went home ate like a horse and started walking with her boot!!!💥
See below post for full story.
💥💥ADOPTED💥💥
CHEWY is ready for his forever loving home!! He is gentle, kind and so so sweet. As of now he does not require surgery and Dr Yurko feels that he may never need surgery but if for some reason he does that is something KEY will do and cover all costs. His adoption fee is $100 which goes into our non profit to help the next rescue that come to KEY.
If you are interested in adopting CHEWY please apply in person and stay for a meet and greet, he loves visitors and being outside.🐾💙
