Welcome to the new busy. We officially finished the first week being in all 3 markets and subscription pick ups this week. ๐ Also got the last seeds in the mail to start for the fall succession of flowers that will get us all the way through till frost in October.

Drip Tape Irrigation System
Check out this video where we talk about our drip tape irrigation system. This saves us time and conserves water.
Jason made a jig to bend conduit pipes into hoops for the flower rows. The hoops provide support for flower netting, shade cloth, frost cloth, and insect netting. What ever the weather throws at us we need to be able to protect the plants.
Potting up seedling Babies!
Busy weekend of planting with unusually warm and windy weather. The temps on the black weed fabric we're getting into the 80's so we've added shade cloth to protect and keep the flowers happy.
Beautiful day to be outside. Cloudy mornings are the best time to harden off your plants that have been growing inside. These flowers will spend some time under a canopy today to help them get acclimated. These are all cool hardy annuals that like to grow in the cold and if the temps dip below freezing we have plenty of frost cloth to keep them warm.
New ground cover means we had to burn a bunch of new holes!
Grow room tour! Come see what plants I've started and what flowers are getting planted in the field this weekend.
There are so many types of China Asters. These are the varieties I planted last year and I loved them all. I heard you all loud and clear that you love the spiky ones ( Valkyrie) on the right so I am growing a ton more of them this year just for you๐ and a couple new varieties too.๐

Hard frost tonight ๐ฅถ and a quick little project.
Zinnias are down!
This is from a couple weekends ago.
These are the dahlia varieties I'm going to save for next year. Unfortunately for us zone 4B growers if you'd like to grow the exact same plant/ variety, we need to dig up the dahlia tubers and safety store inside at 40-50 degrees over winter . Also did you know that you can grow dahlias from seed as well. Each seed you collect from a plant will grow into a completely unique variety. If you want more of the same plant true to the parent plant you need to split the tubers as they grow bigger each season. So many new things I'm learning about plant breeding. Nature is so neat.๐ฑ
Crazy big random mushrooms in the garden.
