Dr. Steve Peters, April 28 – 29, 2023
Over a decade ago, Dr. Peters joined with Martin Black to collaborate on a book, Evidence-based Horsemanship, which focuses on the neuroscience of the horse and applies that science to how horses learn. Through this book and the series of clinics they have developed together, their collaboration has brought new insights in how we understand horses. Dr. Peters has also collaborated with the likes of Mark Rashid, Jim Masterson and Kerri Lake to present more educational opportunities. Recently, he has partnered with Sarah Schlote, a psychotherapist, to develop a Master Course on “Equuscience,” as well as an experiential retreat in 2024. His exploration into equine neuroscience has revolutionized the way we see our relationship with horses as well as our methodologies in training them. Many of Kim’s clients have already participated in his ground-breaking seminars, where Dr. Peters and Kim have partnered in presenting his concepts, and in September 2023, Kim will be going to Durango to collaborate further with Dr. Peters. Brent Graef, May 26 – 28, 2023; July 29 – 31, 2023
Teaching with insight and humor, Brent Graef is dedicated to helping people find a way to provide their horses with a better deal through seeing things from the horse's perspective. His soft-spoken, kind-hearted style has evolved over several decades and his style of horsemanship, influenced by Tom and Bill Dorrance and Ray Hunt, helps people understand how to present things in a way that makes sense to the horse. He teaches students how to help a horse follow a feel and seek a release, creating a thinking horse who is supple and soft. Brent considers the horse to be the greatest of teachers, able to teach us so much if we take the time to learn how to listen. He has developed four DVDs and travels across the country holding clinics. To learn more about Brent and his philosophy of training and teaching, go to his site at https://www.brentgraef.com
