Meet: Barbie 🩷
3 year old Female
Located In: Iowa
✨ Hi, Barbie! It's me, Barbie. ✨ Let me tell you a bit about myself. I'm a proud mama who just raised a litter of ten healthy puppies, all of whom have found their forever homes with BARC families. Now, it's my turn to shine! I have a lot of energy, but with the right toys & chews, I'm a happy girl. 🩷
I'm a social butterfly, always ready to play & soak up affection. I have a knack for learning & problem-solving—just ask! They'll tell you about the time I figured out how to open doors & gates to lead my furry friends on grand adventures. 🎀
That's why a secure fenced yard is a must for me—I have a knack for exploring! I'm also a quick learner—I've already picked up on ringing bells to go outside. While I'm mostly potty trained, I might have an accident if I'm not let out regularly. oops! 🩷
Some of my favorite things include car rides (once I'm in!), walks on a leash (I get a bit excited and might pull), and giving hugs (with some guidance, of course!). I'm currently a bit underweight from nursing, but I'm working on gaining a few more pounds to reach my full, majestic Berner size. 🎀
I'm friendly with everyone—kids, cats, men—no problem! But I do appreciate a little time to warm up to new people. A patient family who can continue my training and give me lots of love and attention would be perfect for me. And no crates, please—I'd much rather snuggle up with my family at night. 🩷
Despite my shyness, I'm a special girl who deserves a home filled with love and adventure. Could that home be with you? Let's find out! ✨

🩷*Barbie is ready for adoption!?*🩷
Barbie’s personality: she is very socialized, playful, extremely intelligent, & loves to be loved on. I joke all the time bc she literally backs her butt up to us for scratches. Barbie came to us pregnant & she raised 10 healthy babies that have all been adopted. She was a fantastic mamma!
When I say smart, this girl learned how to break out her foster siblings & all her puppies out of their rooms! She is able to open doors, gates, & even our main door to our garage! So - fence is a must that can be secured shut with a locking device.
She does have a lot of energy & can be destructive (chewing) if not given appropriate chews. She is an aggressive chewer - so she does very well with knuckle bones & bully sticks. No stuffed animals, she rips them apart in less than a minute. She does great with the BARK toys! We have been teaching her to ring the bells to go outside & she picked up on this very quickly. I can’t say she’s fully potty trained but for the most part, she only has accident if I haven’t ensured she’s been outside.
Her favorites:
🩷 Knuckle bones,
🩷 Bully sticks,
🩷 Petco cookies (look like Oreos),
🩷 She loves car rides (once she gets in the car lol!),
🩷 Walks on leash well (but, will need more work - but she loves walks and gets excited and will pull a bit.)
She is currently 82lbs & needs to gain at least 15lbs more (for full recovery from nursing). She is a big girl & her paws are massive, just like her love. She loves to give hugs - we’ve been working with her on this - to teach her when it’s ok & not. She’s a goofball & will literally hug you and whine for more loving.
She is not crate trained & I wouldn’t recommend that she ever be! She would likely destroy a kennel & hurt herself. I’ve left her alone with the others & she does great. She sleeps on our bedroom floor & will wake you to potty in the morning.
Due to her being underweight while pregnant, weaning & her spay - her coat is very short. But will grow in beautifully over next few months. She can be shy at first meeting new people, but again the way to her heart is give her some time, a cookie and scratch her butt & she’s your best friend for life!
She needs:
🩷 Another dog in the home - her size for play
🩷 No issues with cats
🩷 No issues with children
🩷 No issues with men
🩷 Preferably work from home or family that has someone home most of the day
Willingness to continue training with her. Also able to manage her at full weight (expected 100-105lbs) I would love for her to be in a training class. I think she would love it. She has some fear, and it’s natural, she doesn’t like to have her head under or fixed - so no big hugs in the front - but everywhere else is fine. She loves to be brushed, especially that b***y, lol!
🩷 She is truly a special girl - deserves the best - and lots of love and adventure. 🩷🐾💕
