We rescue, relocate and rehome Norwegian Elkhounds/mixes that have been abused, neglected, abandoned or have had life circumstances change. We are a rehoming network for Norwegian Elkhounds.

Update on Rescue Dog Sheeba: When we first got her she wasn’t able to sit. She was overweight and her joints hurt.

Now she sits easily, jumps up on her couch (she claimed it) and enjoys her walks. She loves the snow and singing (barking) to the neighborhood.
We’re very excited to spend our first Christmas with her.

His original family said “He's never warmed up so quickly to anyone. It makes us so happy
We're grateful to you all.”

His new family said “Just got home. He is checking it all out. He is eating a treat right now. He will do fine.”

Have a good training leash that has a grip at the top as well as one closer to the dog. Make sure your collar fits properly.

When first starting training, walk at least once a day. Walk in neighborhoods that are fairly calm. Avoid distractions such as other dogs and cats. Take your time and enjoy the walk.

UNO’s owner sent us this message “Hello. The people that were going to take Uno never showed up 3 different times. I was told by the landlord she will need to be out by Monday. Do you still have anyone interested lined up that would give her a loving home?”
