Have a good training leash that has a grip at the top as well as one closer to the dog. Make sure your collar fits properly.

When first starting training, walk at least once a day. Walk in neighborhoods that are fairly calm. Avoid distractions such as other dogs and cats. Take your time and enjoy the walk.
