I am in Great Falls 20, 21, 22 for horses. I have a few opening

🔥Dont stop treatments on your horses when your not working them

Preventive care is key to long term Sucesss all Pro Rodeo horses I see have the most success do at least 3 treatments a month

Here is why 👇👇👇

The results are cumulative, the benefits accumulate over time. This is true both for pain relief as well as for returning to normal use and unrestricted range of motion and healing of damaged tissue. Once this is achieved during a series of treatments, the relief will last longer and longer with each additional treatment.

The goal, of course, is long term pain relief and free range of motion. For some, the relief is more temporary and a series of additional treatments is necessary. Booster-maintenance treatments

for full system well-being treatments may be needed as often as weekly, to maintained full cellular health

The readings (audio and digital feedback) will indicate to your Acuscope Practitioner the necessary course of therapy.

🚨I Dont treat one horse that does not need more treatments 🚨

🛑NOT ONE🛑

It is not uncommon that an old, chronic condition will be completely eliminated by Acuscope and Myopulse treatments. But just as common they are reactivated by a new trauma, resolution occurs much faster when kept on regular treatment program.

The reason for this is that these treatments cause the body to maintain a generally healthier state (more “fully charged”) and self-repair processes are more efficient.

🚨When treatments are given before and after a surgery, speedier recovery, less need for pain medication, less scarring of the incision site are typical.

Re-share! 💗 This is me and Swish. We are both built like quarter horses. 😅 Swish is a real quarter horse. I do not ask Swish to long trot 5+ miles to stay in shape. If I long trot 5 miles my IT bands hurt so bad I need a real doctor 🤣 I can however train to run long distance by doing interval training, watching my heart rate, and conditioning. I train my barrel horses the same. I work on correct body positioning to compliment soundness and I don’t train her for a marathon I’m never going to run with her.

Want the BEST horse?

•Pay attention to how they respond, heart rate getting too high? You’re not accomplishing anything, it’s important to keep them in the right range, to burn optimal calories. Remember calories in, calories out, feed more or less based on your workouts. We do not feed perfectly “a scoop and a flake.” I evaluate regularly, looking thinner? Feed more. Hard week coming up, feed more. Too chunky? Feed less. This is a RACE event, you cannot eat twinkies everyday and go win a foot race lol. Unless you’re racing a turtle or a small child. 🤣

•Keep their mind engaged. I see this so much where the horse is literally just going through the motions. They are not challenging themselves or working for that matter, at all. Does your horse ride around collected?

•Think about the extra concussion from long trotting or lateral stress from lunging for long periods of time. Did you know some of the top halter horse trainers only pony in straight lines? To reduce stress on knees. Food for thought.

•Not seeing the results you think you should have? Reevaluate your feed program. Is your horse getting enough protein to have the muscles you desire? Is there an underlying cause? Epm? Ulcers? Etc...?

Our horses are athletes and that means they need to be prepared to perform.

Coming into spring and out of winter months our horses may not be in the best shape. Depending on where you live and what kind of weather you have had this winter might not have been able to ride as much as you would have liked to. That means that you might need to take some time to get your horse into better shape before starting to enter barrel races and rodeos.

Typically it takes a horse 45-60 days to get in top condition. Remember to gradually work your horse up to more intensive exercises. On the first day of getting my horse in shape, I might just spend a lot of time bending and flexing, walking my horse, and getting them back in the groove of exercise. From there gradually increase their exercise to trotting, loping, and then for longer amounts of time.

If you rush a horse into too strenuous exercise too quickly it could risk injury. Take care of your athletes. A fit horse will help you win the barrel race!

Let’s talk about obtaining a proper diagnosis

First thing is first. No Acuscope therapist, chiropractor, body worker etc has the authority to diagnose unless they are also a DVM. Only your veterinarian has the authority to diagnose, as monitored by the veterinary board. Can your acuscope therapist, chiropractor, body worker etc. suggest that something is not quite right with your horse and that you should consider having your vet out? Yes.

A unique aspect of the Acuscope is it does give the therapist biofeedback which tells us how well a certain area of the body is functioning. And for horses that have been our patients for a while, you start to know their norms, which makes it easy to identify when something is abnormal. While the Acuscope is able to give readings indicative of healthy or unhealthy, sometimes without a diagnosis it can be hard for your therapist to decipher which area is the primary problem and which area is unhealthy due to compensation, specifically when there are multiple areas that are low (unhealthy). This is why diagnostic work with your veterinarian is vital! It is not your Acuscope therapists’ job to diagnose, it is their job to heal.

Diagnostic work is very important because when a condition or injury is properly diagnosed I can be concentrated on the primary issue at hand and make an appropriate program for that horse. Acuscope therapists and veterinarians work best as a team, your primary veterinarian diagnoses and gives a prognosis then your Acuscope therapist can do their job of healing the injury (rehab) or slowing the progression of a chronic condition all while addressing compensatory areas and staying within the guidelines from your veterinarian.

I know diagnostic work can get expensive, trust me, I’m a horse owner too, and when they break out that ultrasound or x-ray machine dollar signs go through my brain. BUT without a proper diagnosis more times than not you will sit around spinning your wheels and possibly spend the same amount of money trying to go around properly diagnosing the problem.

So in short, Acuscope therapy is not to be used in place of veterinary work. Use them together!

Let’s talk frequency of treatments. 🤩

All new horses that start a program with Equanimity Animal Therapy begin with 3 consecutive treatments. This is the minimum. If your horse is injured we may be starting with 5 consecutive treatments treatments instead (I will elaborate more further down).

Ok so the initial consecutive treatments is done; now how often should you get your horse treated? Well there are factors we need to consider:

Are you getting your horse Acuscope therapy for preventative maintenance measures and your horse is 100% healthy and sound? In that case your horse is most likely fine with a treatment once per month at minimum.

Are you competing or traveling extensively this month? (Assuming your horse has no chronic issues and 100% healthy). In that case it would be recommended to have your horse treated 2-3 times that month, pending competition schedule, to decrease the likely of overuse injuries and help aid in recovery of sore muscle and optimize performance.

Does your horse have a chronic condition? Navicular? Ringbone? Arthritis? This factor increases the recommended frequency of treatments. Usually I will recommend bi weekly in order to slow the progression of the chronic condition and help manage pain. BUT another factor to consider: does your horse have a chronic condition AND is competing extensively? In that case you may need to keep a bi weekly schedule but then also do additional treatments right before and right after competition.

Now here’s where it gets interesting. Is your horse LAME? Is your horse injured? What is the diagnosis from your vet? How extensive is the injury? All of these questions help a therapist to make a proper rehabilitation program. For example, if my client has a horse that tore her DDFT and wants to do the most aggressive rehabilitation program then I would start treating that horse 5-6 times a week for 30 days. Then the client would go to her vet for a 30 day recheck. If progress is going well then the next month we can possibly reduce to 4 treatments per week for 30 days and so forth from there, readjusting the frequency as the tendon heals and gets stronger. But the frequency within a rehab program is variable per how much the owner is wanting to invest and the extent of the injury. Obviously any treatment is better than none. So if you can only afford treatment 3 times a week during your horses rehab then progress will still be made, healing will still be accelerated! Just not at the same rate as a horse receiving treatments 5 times a week. Rehabilitation cases is where Acuscope therapy is a HUGE ASSET. Utilizing Acuscope therapy during a rehab case can accelerating the healing time by 50% or more.

I hope this helps bring some clarity to know why therapists will recommend a certain frequency of treatments for one horse but maybe not another. And rehabilitation cases are even more variable. But what I highly recommend if you are investing in a rehabilitation program ensure you, your vet, and your therapist are all working together to obtain the best results! 🐎

Let’s talk about muscle contractions and why the Electro-Myopulse is superior to increasing blood circulation & optimizing performance 🤩

To start, tetanic contraction (strong muscle contraction) causes muscle fatigue and with repeated use of strong stimulators that produce tetanic contraction the nerves can become damaged to the point that eventually the patient will not be able to feel the stimulation. For example, milli-amperage current will produce generally strong muscle contractions, which gives the appearance of a positive, relaxed state initially, but eventually will lead to muscle fiber exhaustion and with repeated use will lead to the detrimental results described above.

On the contrary, the ATS Electro-Myopulse utilizes micro-amperage and is programmed to continually monitor the tissue during treatment to only send the exact amount of corrective signal to the muscle. Tetanic contraction is impossible with the microcurrent slope waveform of the Myopulse, which means the tissue cannot be damaged because the Myopulse is utilizing microcurrent and also adjusting the output through the monitoring mechanism. The Myopulse leads to normalization of the muscle tissue by inducing a balanced electro-magnetic field. Circulation is improved by returning the muscles back to a relaxed state so that the muscle fibers are no longer constricted.

There are instances where clients have witnessed spasms during treatment in areas that are overly tense and the spasm visibly decreases over the course of the treatment. This response falls under the subjective response, which is detailed in the article “The Effect of the Myopulse On Improving Local Blood Circulation,” which states, “Spasms visibly release during treatment; tight muscles become loose and knots smooth out...A sense of lightness, looseness, and ease of movement is frequently reported. Resulting increasing range of motion when constriction is released is generally quite conspicuous.” This is a significant aspect of how the Myopulse compliments the Electro-Acuscope to provide a well rounded treatment.

Did you know the Acuscope and Myopulse are the only modality that have been specifically calibrated for animal cells and tissue?

03/18/2022

The Acuscope’s FDA approval is for pain management and provides a minimum of a 50% accelerated recovery rate.
This means that your horses get back to work faster- whether that be recovering from a traumatic injury, chronic condition (such as arthritis), or a training/competition schedule.
The horse’s body heals faster 💜

Hi everyone!
I had long been in search of something that would help the horses in my program to perform like the athletes that they are. The Acuscope was by and large the most sophisticated, results driven, and scientifically backed modality on the market.

I know this modality is new to some so don’t hesitate to reach out to me with questions!
I’ll be putting more information out over the coming weeks⭐️

What is different about the Acuscope-

1. Micro-current
The same level of current that the body already uses. The body recognizes it. No risk of overstimulation!

2. Interactive biofeedback
Monitors the patient then delivers the appopriate amount of current.

3. Calibrated for animals
This is the only modality that is calibrated for animal cells and tissue.

4. Used for evaluations
The Acuscope has digital readings that help address acute and traumatic injury, chronic pain management, maintenance, preventative maintenance, and performance optimization.
