For all pet parents feeding raw diets, we strongly recommend following reputable up to date info regarding the risk of avian influenza. Ask your food manufacturers what protocols they have in place to make sure your companion's are staying risk free.

Here is today's update from the FDA, "The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has determined that it is necessary for manufacturers of cat and dog foods who are covered by the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act Preventive Controls for Animal Food (PCAF) rule and using uncooked or unpasteurized materials derived from poultry or cattle (e.g., uncooked meat, unpasteurized milk or unpasteurized eggs) to reanalyze their food safety plans to include Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza virus (specifically H5N1) as a known or reasonably foreseeable hazard."

FDA has determined that it is necessary for manufacturers of cat and dog foods to reanalyze their food safety plans to include HPAI virus (H5N1).

Hello, this is Nora with the Humane Society in Great Falls. Her owner died a little over a week ago, a lady took the dog in, but can't keep the dog long-term, but she can definitely keep her until a permanent home is found. The dog is 7, spayed female, UTD on shots. As soon as she brought the dog home she was having issues with loose stools/diarrhea, not eating and extremely stressed. We took her to the vet for check up and care. The dog's name is Coco, some sort of Chi X, weight is 13 pounds. Various options for transportation are available, The dog is nice enough, just very nervous right now. I don't know anything at all about the home that she came from.
Thank-you for reading this. Please share this posting so we can find Coco a suitable forever home. She is in the Great Falls area. You can contact Nora at 1-406-799-8787 if you are interested in giving Coco a new forever home. Nora will provide additional information on Coco as requested.

It’s been special to watch Seeley grow!

Getting a good start in life is important. Our holistic approach considers all aspects of your pet’s health, including physical, emotional, and lifestyle factors.

Vaccinations are an important part of puppy and kitten care. We review your pet’s vaccination history and recommend necessary vaccines. We also offer titer testing to determine your pet’s immunity levels and ensure they are protected against common diseases.🐾

The most effective approach we can take to managing pain is a systematic, multi-modal approach. Understanding the pain management pyramid, and having it readily available in our practices to share with owners, can help us more effectively and systematically treat debilitating pain in our patients.

The first tier of pain management focuses on education, physiotherapy and weight management. The next tier includes natural treatments and supplementation; it progresses to the use of NSAIDs, followed by a variety of pain medications. Additional pain management can be achieved by intra-articular therapy and, finally, by salvage surgical procedures.
