Dogs are full of surprising and fascinating facts that make them even more incredible! Here are five random dog facts that most people don’t know:

🐾 Dogs Have Three Eyelids: An upper lid, a lower lid, and a third lid called the nictitating membrane, which helps keep their eyes moist and protected.

🐾 Dogs Can Detect Medical Conditions: With their amazing sense of smell, dogs can be trained to detect diabetes, epilepsy, and even certain types of cancer before symptoms appear.

🐾 Dogs’ Whiskers Are Highly Sensitive: Their whiskers can detect even the slightest changes in the air, helping them sense nearby objects, navigate in the dark, and determine the size of spaces.

🐾 Dogs Have Sweat Glands in Their Paws: While they primarily cool down by panting, dogs also have sweat glands in their paw pads that help with minor temperature regulation.

🐾 The Basenji Dog Doesn’t Bark: Known as the "barkless dog," the Basenji makes a unique sound called a "baroo," which is a mix between a yodel and a howl.

🐾Dogs Can Hear Ultrasonic Sounds: Dogs have an extraordinary sense of hearing and can detect ultrasonic sounds. They can hear frequencies as high as 65,000 Hz, while humans can only hear up to about 20,000 Hz. This allows them to hear sounds that are completely inaudible to us, making their hearing one of their most powerful senses.
