Press Release: Health Department Warns of Possible Rabies Exposure

Bel Air, MD – July 13, 2023- On Wednesday, July 12, 2023, the Harford County Health Department received confirmation from the Maryland Department of Health that a cat found in the Dublin area of Harford County, tested positive for rabies.
Although this cat was found in the 1600 block of Whiteford Road, it may have exposed other persons and pets in the surrounding area. If you or your pets have had contact with a black and white kitten in the area between July 1, 2023 and July 10, 2023, please contact the Harford County Health Department for a rabies risk assessment by calling 410-612-1774.

ONE mosquito bite started this. ONE. Monthly heartworm prevention is necessary 12 months a year. It takes one infected mosquito bite to cause this. It can happen inside your house or on a 5 minute potty break.

Monthly prevention is the only way to stop this from happening!!
