Oh no! Not only are we getting dangerously low on hay, we are also down to our last bag of litter 😔

Our little friends need your help! If you are able and willing to help, our babies would be so grateful 💗

—> Our rabbits and guinea pigs do best with a pelleted type litter (either paper pellets or the Tractor Supply kind of pellets shown below), but we will also use loose paper bedding like CareFresh. Check out our Chewy and Amazon wishlists!

We are running low on hay!

🌾❗️ Uh oh, we’re running low on hay! ❗️🌾

Being that hay is the most important part of a rabbit/guinea pig’s diet, we go through a ton of it. Our little furry friends will have hungry bellies if we don’t replenish our hay pile soon!

🌸 Petunia seems to be starting to display some changes in behavior (not as active today, huddling in hidey house), so we are thinking that her little sweet potatoes may be arriving in the very near future! 🌸

Still no babies yet, but they sure are active in her belly! Her foster parents love to feel the little babies moving around. Petunia herself is loooooving having her foster parents doting all over her!

Guess what??? We’re expecting! 🎉🐷💗

🎉 Our small animal program is expecting! 🎉

We recently took in this beautiful, heavily pregnant mama guinea pig from an overcrowded open intake shelter where she and 10 other piggies had been found as strays together. The shelter asked for our help, and how could we say no to that cute little face!

🌸 Petunia Pig is settling into her foster home nicely and is preparing for her birth. She is such a love! She definitely is happy to have comfy blankets, loving snuggles, and yummy food whenever she wants. We promised her this would be her last time birthing babies!

We were also able to take in two other piggies (not pregnant) from the group of piggies she was from 💙

Our boy Twist needs your help! Please consider donating towards his ongoing care. He is currently stable and enjoying the attention he is getting 💗

Here at PK we have had no shortage of medical needs lately, and now it’s our small animal program’s turn!

‼️🐰 Our boy Twist is not feeling the greatest and needs your help! 🐰‼️

We noticed last night that he was exhibiting beginning symptoms of GI stasis: not wanting to move much, didn’t want food or treats, stretching out oddly and pushing his tummy to the ground. If anyone knows Twist, you would know that he is usually a bundle of energy! He loves to zoomie around, jump up to explore “off limits” areas, and eat lots of yummy treats.

Our program manager took Twist home for the night to monitor him and start stasis protocol, and has him with our friends at Exotic Animal Hospital of Pennsylvania - EAHP today.

🚨With our medical fund being so low, we desperately are in need of donations from our fellow animal lovers! 🚨

❤️‍🩹 It has been confirmed that our Twisty boy has a couple different things going on including an ear infection, points on his teefies, diminished gut sounds. His ear gunk smells nice and ye**ty 🤢 He has finally pooped a bit and eaten and he luckily isn’t lethargic anymore like he was last night.

Twist will need some ongoing care to get back to tip top shape! Aside from medication management, this most likely will also include a dental in the near future.
