Have you ever seen microfilaria (baby heartworms)? This is a good video where you can see what we see when looking at your pet's blood under the microscope. Dogs and cats are infected with heartworms when a mosquito that is infected bites the pet and injects the microfilaria into the bloodstream via its saliva. The baby heartworms start circulating in your pet's blood and after about 6 months become larvae and travel to the heart, where they become adult heartworms. The cycle is repeated when another mosquito bites your now heartworm-positive pet and sucks up the microfilaria-infected blood.

Our services and facilities are designed to assist in routine preventive care for young, healthy pets; early detection and treatment of disease as your pet ages; and complete medical and surgical care as necessary during his or her lifetime. For over 20 years we've helped pets from Tyler, Flint, Arp, Troup, Gresham, and the greater East Texas area.
