I am a little slow on this update Last Sunday we went to another great run show at Arrowheart Ranch. A massive Thankyou once again the Reed, Kodi & April & ALL of their hardworking helpers, the judges the scribes, the sponsors & gap fillers. It was hot & humid (although not like showing in Rockhampton Australia) & the whole crew made it run smooth. These boys showed up & stepped up, Red was able to come & finally get to show his half of Bruce & did a beautiful job, he ended up 3rd overall in the Open Division.Winkin At The Crowd, (Willis) is the newest addition to the string, improved out of sight from the last show. This was his second Ranch Show & handled everything so much better than last time. He won the buckle for the Green Horse Division & Bruce was runner up. Also a huge Congratulations to my friend Ashley Valor who had a great show winning the Novice Division & Runner up in the Amateur division on her home bred & trained horses. We are just so thankful to have these beautiful animals to ride & lovely people to be around.

Massive appreciation post to Sonya from Central Pulse for treating Bruce & providing this video. He is now 1 week out from the biggest trip of his life, flying from Australia to the USA🇺🇸. I’ve done everything I can to ensure a solid prep for his trip, which Ofcourse includes regular PEMFS, high quality Hygain feed/supplements & maintaining daily exercise.

I’ve noticed a disconnect right now in horsemanship between expectation & reality. Riders want their horses to be able to gather up, transition, speed up, slow down, hold a frame, steer, stop, change direction back up etc. etc The quality of each of these things listed is determined by the organisation & balance of a horses feet. Yet how much preparation has gone into this for the horse? In a lot of cases ..very little !!! Riders are so focused on the horses’ head, where it is & what it’s doing, that very little focus if any is placed on what’s going on underneath. The most educated horsemen amongst us know, that when the feet are organised & balanced, the body will be in most cases right, then the head will be precisely where it should be for that particular horse. A terrific weekend of Ranch Versatilty & Cattle work at New England Equine 😍 So grateful for having the oppportunity to share with keen students about Ranch Versatility & cattle work. Stockmanship 1-0-1 was a big focus for these budding ranchers, moving into Ranch Cow work classes in the show pen. I’d like to sincerely thank New England Equine for hosting me for the weekend & to Bernie & staff who made sure everything ran so smooth 😊 Can’t forget the loyal service of Hip for these weekend who carried me around 🥰 thanks Wendy for loaning him to me 😍

Minnie is really enjoying working cattle, she’s so cowy, yet so casual 🙌🏾 She’s gonna be really fun for me to show in Ranch Versatility if she hasn’t sold before then. 🤩

So proud of Renée Ware jumping in both feet to start riding in the Hackamore. Renee sent her mare Reba to me 6 weeks ago, she had been recently started, so I put some “Ranch miles” on her, worked on her dry work, worked sheep, worked out on the trail, roped off her, went branding, hauled her away on a couple of trips, & just generally moved her onto a more user friendly stage. She’s such a sweet mare & I was thrilled to hand her over to Renee to have some fun on & get ranchy.
