POV. Yes another one of my observations! That really gets me steamed!
I been breeding 42 years. And some of the ppl i have encountered over the years that are looking for bargains, laugh in my face at pricing for my babies, say rude things etc. but guess who they reach out to when they are having issues with that cheap train wreck they ended up with? Me!! Why? Because they figure i am the one person that has put in all this time into this breed, surely i can help them!! Where was all that trust in me when you said my dogs cost too much? I give a two year genetic health guarantee, my dogs are health tested, i have 3, 4, and 5th generations on the ground! I haven’t increased my prices since 2020!!! Even though we all know of all the increases in testing, food, supplies, veterinary care etc! But yet they still choose to pay less, and some of them literally pay the price of my puppies, on their first emergency vet visit! What a shame!
And you know what else they are doing, when they purchase cheap dogs? They are encouraging that breeder who doesn’t test, who doesn’t know how to choose two quality bulldogs to breed together to out produce their own bloodlines, to continue on that path, and breed more!
They are in a nutshell being scammed!! They don’t think so, because after all, they did get an English Bulldog Puppy!!! And they didn’t have to pay my prices!! OR DID THEY??? 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️
Us breeders who have been producing top quality bulldogs, and are struggling now, i hope you know how this came about! Those breeders who let their puppies go with full rights! Stop doing that, unless you sell to another well known breeder!
Those ppl who got full rights from you that two years down the road say, “i love my girl so much, and so do my family and friends, so i am going to have a litter so i can give them to my family and friends! Then they are blowing up our phones, and all the whelping advice groups trying to figure out what the hell to do! Then if they are lucky enough to have a litter that survives, they are selling them for $1,200 to $1,500 ! OMFG! My first EB was $1500 back in 1998, WTH?
Then their dogs end up in shelters and rescues! STOP THE INSANITY! STOP SELLING AND GIVING FULL RIGHTS!
AND STOP LOWERING YOUR PRICES! STAND BEHIND YOUR PROGRAM, YOUR DOGS, AND YOUR VISION YOU HAD WHEN YOU BEGAN THIS JOURNEY!
What can you do you ask to make it better? Stop them! Stop giving full rights away, stop giving them support, refer them to a vet and step away! Someone asks you a question about their dogs, you say sure be happy to answer your questions. But i got a few to ask you first! Where did you get your dog? Why aren’t you contacting your breeder for this information? How many litters have you had? Your dog health tested? Can i see a picture of your dog? Do you have a pedigree? If they can’t provide you with satisfactory answers, refer them to their vet for the knowledge they seek! STOP HELPING THEM!!!
I’m sorry if this sounds callous and mean, but enough is enough! I am a breeder because i have a passion for it! I absolutely love what i do! And i can damn well promise you not ONE OF THE PUPPIES I HAVE EVER PRODUCED HAS ENDED UP IN A SHELTER! Idgaf which breed of mine I have produced, i can account for every single one of them!
I am sick and tired of being insulted over my puppies prices! You want quality, trust me i provide quality, and what goes into my dogs, i would be very glad to be able to recover that expense so that i can continue doing what i love! Which is to make other ppls dreams come true, and make them happy with their new family member, not just a dog!!
So in essence what i am saying is, to improve our business, we need to be accountable for our actions! So let’s support each other and make our business great again! We can do it together! We can stop so many of these cheap dogs that don’t deserve their outcomes, just because someone has the mindset, this is easy money! If you find it easy, then get out now!!
