Based in Whiteville, NC CFRL is a 501(c)3 non-profit animal rescue group serving Coastal NC. Each year CFRL places 200+ pets in loving homes.

Cape Fear Rescue League is a "no walls" non-profit animal rescue organization that cares for animals that are unwanted and/or whose lives are endangered. Our service area includes New Hanover, Pender, Brunswick and Columbus Counties on the Coast of North Carolina. CFRL provides foster homes and medical care including spay/neuter to homeless and abandoned animals until the animals get adopted. This

UPDATE : It was suggested by a person that maybe Maverick was lost and his family has been looking for him. Everyone has a right to his /her perspective. Mine is, his condition, as per our vets, was weeks of starvation. I do not believe that a pup wandering around the well trafficked area of where he was found wasn't seen, called about or found any food. It is called deduction, BUT my opinion only. Your decision

Even though CFRL is currently closed with taking in dogs at this time.....let's try to help another rescue that is asking for funds to help pay for medical expenses for Maverick.

Does anyone have or can build a Bailey chair for a large dog? Nothing fancy, just functional. Here is a pic of one. To order online, they take several weeks. Hoping for something more immediate. It’s needed for a dog with megaesophagus issues.

We lost a dear friend this week and no words can do her justice as she had a heart of gold. Nan Burns was not just a volunteer and foster to our dogs, but a blessing from God. Whenever needed, she would answer the call. She built dog runs, paid for training for troubled cases and would never give up on any sweet pup. If you knew this wonderful lady, please share your story with us. May she rest in peace with all the dogs in Heaven.
