The Holbrook Police are currently looking for three missing juveniles pictured below. From left to right they are Destiny Nicole, Symphoni Hodges, and Ruby Samuel. They were last seen around 3:45PM-4:15PM in the area of Forest Rd with jackets and backpacks.

We are honoured to have dogs in our lives.

I don’t think people realise this, when we look at dogs and look at the medium to large breeds they could have gone on with their lives without being domesticated by humans. Even smaller breeds who would not have existed much in the form they are would have faired well without the interference of humans.

Piglet is some 30kg, big for a female bull terrier but needs to lose some girth. That being said when she wants to run she can shift, she is faster and more steadier on her feet than I am. I’ve seen her take out a fully grown man in full pelt by accident myself on a few occasions. That much weight with a low centre of gravity on four legs is a power to be reckoned with. I’ve been floored and winded when I’ve gotten in the way of a full on bullie run.

Her bite has a force of some 270psi in her jaws, I’ve seen her go through bone like it’s not there, raw chicken is nothing and a beef knuckle bone doesn’t take much more work. She doesn’t though have the strongest bite force of dogs, that belongs to the Kangal Shepherd that has a bite force more than double hers at 750psi. It could bite through a fully grown humans leg without a second thought.

They are prey animals and can be driven by the prey instinct, it’s never been bred out of dogs no matter how they try to. It’s within them to hunt and it’s down to them to keep this in check not so much us.

Yet here we are, they are gentle with us and our children, family and friends, you can pass them food and they take it from your fingers, they will lay with you, on you and guard you because you have become the most important being in their world. We leave them with our children and a few chosen words will bring them to order, even Piglet.

This bill would help prevent tragedies like Ollie’s, by making sure that pet daycare facilities are licensed, inspected, and that there are reasonable regulations on supervision and reporting of injuries.

This is an important step–but the bill still needs to pass the House by July 31!

11/17/20 Great news, Murphy and Guinness had enough and are safely back home!

Update 11/15/20 - "Murphy" and "Guinness" are still missing. There have been no sightings since Thursday afternoon. It's possible they could be following the power lines so surrounding towns should also be on lookout. Please keep sharing to help bring them home.

MISSING 11-11-20 MA: "Murphy" and "Guinness", a black lab & a yellow lab are missing from Wolf Pond Rd/Holly Tree Dr area. They are both 6 yrs/85 lbs. and although friendly, DO NOT CHASE OR CALL OUT TO.
