Coles Turnpike Tree Farm has been moving Christmas trees now that it has stopped raining. Dandelion seeds are out and flying everywhere. Have to stop tractor every 10 to 15 minutes because of Dandelions or tractor will over heat to clean radiator. Also waring a mask to protect myself.

Coles Turnpike Tree Farm last week received Christmas tree seedling. Now it's planting time, one tree at time, back breaking work. Now let them grow for 10 plus years to be saleable Christmas trees.

Today was sawmill day at tree farm, cutting hemlock logs into lumber. Just another job on farm, they wonder what I do for exercise, I get it keeping up with sawmill.

Coles Turnpike Tree Farm

Is owned and operated by Gary Coles. The name of the farm comes from the history of the land as the Catskill Turnpike Toll Road went through the property. This road was the major road west in the 1700s and early 1800s before the Erie Canal was built.

Coles Turnpike Tree Farm is located at 52 Parsons Road, Whitney Point, New York, 13862.

We sell Christmas Trees starting the Friday after Thanksgiving until we are sold out. We also make maple syrup on the tree farm but the maple sales are conducted at another location. Our main sales of maple syrup are conducted at 3143 NY Rt 206, Whitney Point, New York, 13862. The sugarhouse is open during the boiling season for visitors but closed the rest of the time.
