Great Lakes Rabbit Sanctuary GLRS provides a safe haven to abandoned, abused, and neglected domestic rabbits and others. Expect a response within 1-2 days.

If you are interested in adopting, please contact our adoption coordinator at [email protected]. Sanctuary work keeps us very busy, so we may not be able to respond right away. Visiting the Sanctuary: We welcome visitors and are very excited to share the wonders of the sanctuary, however, we are not open to the public on a daily basis. Tours are available by appointment only during the

spring, summer, and early fall. Please email us at least 48 hours in advance to schedule a visit and have us confirm your visit. To help us continue providing a safe haven for the animals, we request a donation of $5.00 per person for tours of the sanctuary. To get involved in volunteering email [email protected]

Maybe you've heard about bringing an apple to your teacher, but this sweet boy from our "Apple" litter is all the sweetness you need! 💙

McIntosh gets all A’s in cuteness and sass! He loves to explore and visit with his neighbors, and he’d like you to know he’s not looking for trouble—he’s just exploring possibilities!

Mac was born here at the sanctuary, and while we’ve loved watching him grow, we know he’s ready to spread his bunny wings and start this new school year in his own home!

Meet Emmy! This young bun is ready for her forever home and would love to meet you! 💙

Emmy joined our sanctuary as a baby this April after being purchased at a pet store (eek!). This beautiful girl is top of her class in snacking and bunny flops! She loves to nap next to her pen’s door, so she’s always ready to beg passerby for treats and attention. Emmy is still very young, and would love someone to spoil her and treat her like the little princess she was born to be!

Oreo's a young bun who had a rough start when she got here, but now she's ready to speed off to her forever home!

Oreo’s favorite subject is gym. This tiny girl is the fastest bunny at the sanctuary, and wow does she love her zoomies! Oreo is silly, speedy, and so much fun! She doesn’t have much time to stop for snuggles, but she loves to be where the action is, and if you’re one of the lucky few, she’ll stop moving long enough for some nose pets.

We love to see her racing around, because when she came to us as a baby last spring, Oreo was horribly infested with bot flies, and in too much pain to zoom.

She’s fully recovered now though, and this girl is always up to something! Whether it’s playing capture the flag with her newspapers, or leaping off her favorite box, Oreo is a bunny on the go and she’s ready to race right into a home of her own!

Our next young bun for Back-to-School September is Jazz! 🐰

This spherical little lady was born right here at the sanctuary and while she’s not the most outgoing girl in class, we think she’s a diamond in the rough! Jazz is the girl who spent recess reading in the shade -- dodgeball and tag are not her games, but if you’ve got patience and a gentle spirit, Jazz would love a best friend to share secrets and stories with!

It’s time for our annual purchase of hay! We’re stocking up for the year to keep our rabbits, pigs, and goats happy, healthy, and fed. Hay is a staple for our residents: rabbits depend on it for healthy digestion, and our goats and pigs rely on it for both nourishment and bedding. With so many mouths to feed, our hay bill adds up quickly.

We have a generous donor who has committed $2,000 in matching funds towards our goal! For the first $2,000 worth of gifts made, YOUR GIFT'S IMPACT WILL BE DOUBLED! A $10 gift turns into $20, and so on!

This year, our goal is to raise $5,000 to cover our hay costs. Every dollar helps us provide the fresh, quality hay our animals deserve.

This handsome youngster is Yarrow. He was born right here at the sanctuary, but he’s ready to find a home of his very own! 💙

Yarrow’s favorite subjects are recess and lunch time! He loves to explore and play hide and seek. This handsome boy would love a bunny playground (or at least a cool tunnel and a fun box!) in his new home. He takes a little time to warm up to new friends, but we think that this sweet and curious guy will find his confidence once he finds a loving home.

Please join us for our Harvest Hoppening Open House on Sunday, October 12th! 🎃

We will have kids' activities, including a Hopstacle course and pumpkin painting, property tours, a vegan cupcake walk, and a silent auction.

Oleander was born here at the sanctuary with several siblings. He’s is a true straight-A student; even if he’d rather be studying than out partying with the other bunnies, he’s not afraid to try new things and meet new people!
