Great Lakes Rabbit Sanctuary GLRS provides a safe haven to abandoned, abused, and neglected domestic rabbits and others. Expect a response within 1-2 days.

If you are interested in adopting, please contact our adoption coordinator at [email protected]. Sanctuary work keeps us very busy, so we may not be able to respond right away. Visiting the Sanctuary: We welcome visitors and are very excited to share the wonders of the sanctuary, however, we are not open to the public on a daily basis. Tours are available by appointment only during the

spring, summer, and early fall. Please email us at least 48 hours in advance to schedule a visit and have us confirm your visit. To help us continue providing a safe haven for the animals, we request a donation of $5.00 per person for tours of the sanctuary. To get involved in volunteering email [email protected]

Charlie is still looking for his forever home! 💙

Charlie is a curious, chill guy with character to spare! Like many rabbits, it takes him a little time to warm up, but once he feels safe, he's friendly and affectionate and learning to love getting pets. He loves treats and being King of the Castle and jumping on top of his boxes.

Secure your bun's spot in our first ever Alumni Calendar! 🗓

If you have a former GLRS bunny and would like them to be featured in one of our 12 monthly calendar spots, we will be accepting donations of $100 to reserve a month. This donation includes one free calendar, which can be picked up or mailed to you.

✨How It Works:✨
• Email [email protected] with your interest in participating and list the top three preferred months you would like for your bun(s) to be featured in.
• Liz will reply to confirm availability. Spots will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
• Once your spot is confirmed, Liz will provide donation instructions.
• After your donation is received, she’ll send details about submitting your photos and a short blurb to be included on your rabbit’s page.

✨Additional Info:✨
• One month per household. If you have multiple GLRS bunny alumni, we welcome pictures of all of them for your feature!
• Please wait to donate until your spot is confirmed by Liz.
• Calendars will be ready by the end of November, possibly sooner!
• Even if your bun isn't featured, calendars will be available for purchase so everyone can enjoy the charm of our GLRS alumni all year long.

Dignified lady Ms. Brioche is ready for her forever home! 💙

Ms. Brioche is a beautiful Continental Giant bunny, who came to us from a hoarding situation with four other giants. She is a dignified lady, who enjoys spending her days living up to her name by practicing becoming the sweetest, biggest loaf you've ever seen!

Ms. Brioche loves to snuggle and get gentle nose pets from trusted friends. She is uncertain about bunny companions, and like most bunnies, needs some time to warm up with human companions. She would love a quiet home with lots of space to explore and a cozy place to loaf and relax.

Ms. B is a very food-motivated lady, and she loves treats and cilantro! She's looking for a family who can treat her like the queen she is, with patience and kindness and lots of cilantro! 🌿

We know times are tough, especially with the upcoming changes to SNAP benefits, and we want to help keep your bunnies healthy, happy, and with you where they belong. 💚

Several Michigan rabbit rescues have teamed up to offer free supplies and assistance to rabbit guardians in need.

We can help with food essentials like hay, pellets, and supplements for your bunnies.

Generously put on by the Ohio House Rabbit Rescue, Midwest Bunfest brings together rabbit rescue nonprofits, hay suppliers, independent vendors, educational experts and more to explore all things bunny and support the people who care for them!

Shoutout to Cora from Eastern Shore Rabbit Rescue and Education Center, located in Maryland, for putting together some great rabbit rescue networking opportunities... including a delicious dinner!
