Sweet Abby was rescued from a dangerous condemned building by WF animal control officers in 2017, with her newborn babies. The pups and Abby eventually made it to New York where Helping Hounds Dog Rescue, our partner organization, found them wonderful homes. Abby landed with Rosanne Dempsey and her husband and they are the most loving people! We enjoy the updates they send. Rosanne told us today that Abby had a great Christmas. Looks like Santa did not forget this very good girl!

Enzo (Texas name—Goose) was surrendered to City of Wichita Falls Animal Services in 2022 but Scotty and Shannon (and their pit bull Rizzo) said yes to fostering him so he is alive and living a wonderful life in New York instead of ending up a tragic statistic. Thanks to the fosters, donors, and our veterinary team(s) for helping us save over 5,000 dogs over the last 11 1/2 years!

Houdini was one special dog! We never tire of hearing this amazing story of his incredible compassion and wisdom. He knew humans would help dogs in need but he himself couldn’t bring himself to allow them to help him until he was as sick as Joni was and could not escape.

Her Texas name was Pixie but now she’s in New York and is named Raven. She’s very happy in her new home!

Hot Dog is having a merry Christmas with his dads and extended family! He was adopted here in Wichita Falls by Shon and Mark Daniel this year after his owner became unable to care for him.

Valerie is enjoying the comforts of being part of a loving family this Christmas. From Burk originally, she became an Underdog when her family could no longer care for her and has been with her New York family a few years now. We love updates like this!
