Veterinarians see a lot of owners dealing with end of life events with their pets. We often get the question “how do we deal with this loss all the time?” Our answer is to provide compassion for the pet, and to be there to help pet families when we are needed most. 💙 Occasionally, people who are upset about the cost of urgent pet care, or don’t agree with our professional opinion, get angry and yell, or post a poor review to accuse us of not caring. If they only knew that we also shed tears for their pet, lose sleep thinking of how we can constantly improve our care, and worrying about their pets outcome. Part of our grieving process with pet loss, is to make custom keepsake watercolor paw prints and nose prints for the pets family. Amazingly, every print is unique like a fingerprint. We wish everyone would recognize the years of education we require to practice, the costs of this education and true costs of offering high tech quality compassionate pet care. Please try to return compassion to the doctors and staff who are committed to being there for you and your pet.

“Heyoka” and her owner CJ came into visit us tonight for her staple removal from her emergency surgery over a week ago for a septic abdomen after her uterus ruptured from a severe infection. She was very young to have experienced this serious condition with great concerns for her survival. Dr. Cederberg and a UPC team of four technicians (Jolene, Janae, Codie and Korrie) took her to surgery at midnight to remove the infected uterus and ovaries, placed abdominal drains to continue to drain the infection from her abdomen and monitor her infection. Cultures were performed to help make sure we knew what bacteria was present to assist with decisions on antibiotics to fight the infection. We were very happy to see her doing well and on the road to a full recovery! 🐶 💊 🏥 ❤️‍🩹

A 9 month old Shepherd presented to us a few weeks ago for unknown trauma and sustained a proximal ulnar fracture among other injuries. The ulna fracture repair was performed at Urgent Pet Care. The patient is doing well thanks to the kindness of a donor/ foster and is in the process of healing. 💙🐶🏥🦴🐾
