Meet Myrtle! Myrtle is a gorgeous, 21 pound, two year old Beagle. This precious little princess was rescued from a situation where her previous owner allowed her to roam outside, unsupervised, without a leash or fenced yard. She was found wandering along a busy highway, and after the third time she wandered away, her owner decided that if she didn't want to come home, then he didn't want her. Beagles are scent-driven and they love to follow their noses, so it is absolutely NO surprise that she wandered away when she was unsupervised in an unsecured yard! Myrtle just wanted to find the pot of gold at the end of the scented rainbow. Anyone who has ever met a beagle knows they are tender hearted, gentle, affectionate, non-reactive, silly, sweet, friendly, hungry, and that they LOVE to follow their noses! Myrtle loves everyone she meets, no matter their size, age, or species. She's great with other dogs and takes cues from them well, giving them space as needed. She adores humans and wants to be close at all times, and would prefer someone be petting her constantly. She is a cuddle bug to her very core! All Myrtle really wants in life is a snuggle buddy who will give her lots of love. She's happy to share her space with other dogs and/or as many people as are willing to give her attention, but she would also be perfectly content as an only dog. While she has not been cat-tested, odds are good that she would behave fine around kitties, too. Myrtle is housebroken with supervision (she has only had one accident in her foster home), crate trained, and has excellent house manners. She's also learning to sit for treats and pets! The only thing Myrtle really needs is a securely fenced yard - outside of that requirement, we truly think she will be happy with anyone, anywhere.
