Can you guess what we found in this dogs paw?

If you guess part of a stick, you would be right!

This patient had been holding up his paw and licking during the weekend. His owners brought him to us and with the help of sedation, we were able to retrieve this stick from the inside of his paw! Now that this has been removed, our patient can start his road to recovery.

Although things like this happening are never fun, we are always happy to help our patients and clients through anything!

Can you guess what we found in this cats intestines?

Doja was brought to us last Thursday because she wasn't eating and she was throwing up frequently. Her family brought her to us and, with the help of x-rays, we were able to identify a blockage in her intestines. We ran to surgery and were able to recover the tip of a baby bottle ni**le. The rest of surgery went great and Doja was able to go home to next day! She is doing well at home and eating great!

Thank you to Dr. Danielle and the wonderful surgery staff who helped sweet Doja!

Leo is celebrating National Pet Dental Month!

He got his dental cleaning last friday and did very well! During the dental procedure we will do dental x-rays to check for signs of decay or infection. Most issues involving the teeth start under the gum line so x-rays are a great way to get a lead on any brewing problems.

Leo's x-rays looked great and he recovered well! We so grateful to be able to help out all of these wonderful animals!

The Super Bowl is upon us and that can only mean one thing: Super Bowl Parties!

Although these parties are fun, they can be dangerous for your pet. Here is a list of all the things to be weary of this weekend:
-Guacamole: Avocados can cause GI upset, onions can cause anemia, and the pit of avocados can cause blockages.
-Chocolate: Chocolate can be very dangerous for pets depending on the type. It can cause gastrointestinal distress or even pancreatitis.
-Chicken Wings: While the chicken itself is necessarily bad for your pet, sauces can cause GI upset & ingestion of chicken bones can shatter and puncture the wall of the stomach or intestines.
-Grapes: Even eating one grape can cause kidney failure in dogs.

Please keep an eye on your pets this weekend and give us a call if your have any questions!

Have you ever had bloodwork done on your pet?

Having annual bloodwork performed on your pet is essential to help maintain their health and monitoring any changes that may occur. That's why this month we are offering 10% of our Geriatric Bloodwork!

This panel is a comprehensive screening that allows the veterinarian to evaluate many different things like the liver, kidneys, and thyroid function in addition to other important values! Early detection is often key to a long and healthy life for your pet!

If you would like to schedule your pet, please give us a call at (316) 260-2229.

First two foreign body removals of the year ☑️

We're only a few weeks into the year and we have removed two separate foreign bodies from two patients! One was removed surgically and was removed endoscopically.
