⏰💔 HEARTBREAK HAPPENING SOON 😭💔⏰

Luna is running out of time and will soon take a walk to the room of no return!!! This special girl is BEGGING for her chance to be saved but still has no serious leads. 💔 The shelter is overfull and Luna is one of the first at risk. No amount of time is promised and she can be pulled without any advance notice!! Every minute counts in the fight to make it out alive.

For 6 years Luna’s world has been no bigger than a back yard. She spent every day struggling to survive, living in pain, and wondering when her next meal would come. She has likely never been to the vet, never curled up with her person on the couch, never been on a car ride except the one to the shelter. Her tiny world full of neglect and heartbreak is all she has ever known.

Luna’s miracle finally came when Luna along with the other dogs on the property were finally seized and taken to animal control. All but Luna and another girl, Oreo, have been able to be saved but these ladies are still waiting for their chance.

Despite everything Luna has endured she still loves humans more than anything else and just wants to make up for lost time by being cuddled and loved on. She is a couch potato through and through who would be happy to sleep next to you for hours while you binge watch your favorite show. Due to her painful past and lack of socialization she would do best in a home where she can be the only pet. She also has a large mammary tumor and will need to see a vet for the first time in her life to diagnose that and any other underlying conditions she may have. She is a quick learner and easy to please so would do well with training, seems to keep a clean kennel most of the time, and walks decently on leash.

Won’t someone give this gorgeous loving girl a safe place to land and spoil her for the rest of her days?? 😢🙏

✨✨LET’S GET ABBY OUT OF BOARDING 🙏😍✨

This beautiful little low rider was recently returned to care and while staff has greatly enjoyed having her, it’s time to get her back into a home! Abby is great with cats and dogs but can be nervous at first with children. With time and a bit of patience she can relax and adjust.

Abby was adopted off death row at a small town shelter and spent the next year living in an Alzheimer’s care home where she offered a great deal of comfort to her residents. Unfortunately the unpredictability of family members coming and going just proved to be too much for her. Abby would make a fantastic companion to an elderly owner and would likely thrive in a normal home or family setting once given time to decompress and adjust to her new surroundings.

We would love to see this sweet little lady get a chance at a foster or forever home! Please consider opening your hearts to give this sweet girl a place to land. 🤞🥹

🚨 PLEASE SAVE MY LIFE!! NO TIME TO WAIT!! 😭🚨

Oreo is still begging for her life and praying someone will save her very very soon. She has escaped certain euthanasia twice already and may not be so lucky much longer. The shelter continues to struggle with capacity issues making the less adoptable dogs (like pet selective Oreo) first in line to be pulled if the kennel space is needed! 😩

Oreo has suffered a life of neglect and cruelty for 8 years. She was struggling to survive and never knew kindness, but didn’t hesitate to show her love for people the minute her rescuers arrived. When first confiscated Oreo was in critical condition with a life threatening infection in her uterus and twisted intestines both causing immense pain. She was able to get immediate surgery for those issues but will still need to see a vet to ensure she is otherwise healthy after never receiving care before. Oreo is not pet friendly due to her past but she ADORES humans and is eager to be your new bestie!! Oreo is low energy, keeps a clean kennel, is extremely people friendly and a very sweet dog.

Every minute counts and Oreo’s life is on the line! Who is going to be her hero before time runs out?? 💔🙏🥺

👑 🐶 Bailey: Queen of the Couch, Ruler of Hearts! Once upon a time in a cozy foster home not-so-far-away, lived a tiny, scruffy princess named Bailey. At just 11 pounds, this 4-year-old wire-haired dachshund may be small in size—but don’t let her stature fool you. She’s packed to the brim with sass, sparkle, and s***k.

Bailey’s story began like any classic tale: full of drama, a few squabbles over snacks, and a grand exit from a home that wasn’t quite her kingdom. You see, Bailey knows what she wants. She’s not one to share her royal feast or prized squeaky toy with other dogs—thank you very much—and prefers to reign as the one-and-only fur-child in the home (at least for now).

Her foster mom says Bailey is a people dog, especially when it comes to the ladies. She’ll curl up on your lap, stare into your soul with those big brown eyes, and convince you that yes, you do have time to sit down and snuggle. She warms up to men with a little time and patience—but don’t worry, once you’re in, you’re in for life.

Bailey’s talents include:
• Sleeping like a queen in her plush den bed.
• Speaking fluent Bark (she’s quite the conversationalist).
• Taking flying leaps off furniture like she’s auditioning for a stunt double role.
• Keeping her living space spotless (a true lady never makes a mess).

She loves exploring the great outdoors, trotting through the yard like she owns the place, and going on grand adventures—on leash, of course, because her legs are tiny but her ambition is mighty.

Bailey’s ideal home? One without other pups (for now), with humans who adore her, understand her royal quirks, and are ready to spoil her like the little queen she is. She’s good with kids, but no apartments please—this girl has opinions, and she’s not afraid to share them through the walls.

Meet Lou: Retired Olympian, Current Desk Diva

Once upon a time, Lou was rescued by a kind human who offered her safety, warmth, and a cozy basement to settle in. But Lou had other plans—she was training for the Hide and Seek Olympics. And let us tell you… she won. Her gold-medal strategy? Vanishing into the basement walls like a feline Houdini, popping out only for midnight snacks and hydration, then ghosting again for two weeks. Respect.

Lou’s epic run came to an end when she realized the medal doesn’t come with snacks or snuggles. So she gracefully retired from the sport and traded in the shadows for a desk job—literally. Now she spends her days lounging atop an office desk like the queen she is, soaking up attention, naps, and back scratches.

Lou loves affection and will happily roll over for pets—but please, no unsolicited pickups. Her biscuit-makers can turn into murder mittens if boundaries aren’t respected. She’ll climb into your lap when she’s good and ready (usually right when you’re trying to type).

She’s got one adorably crinkled ear (a souvenir from her ear mite survival era), a strong independent streak, and a whole lot of love to give—on her terms. Are you cool enough to be Lou’s human?

From Fear to Freedom — Rocco’s Journey

When Rocco first came into Beauties’ care after being rescued from a heartbreaking hoarding situation, he was terrified. He wouldn’t even step out of his kennel, frozen by fear and uncertainty.

But with patience, love, and the support of an incredible foster, Rocco slowly began to trust again. Day by day, his walls came down—and in their place, his amazing personality started to shine through.

Now, Rocco isn’t just surviving—he’s thriving. This brave boy reminds us all of the power of second chances and the magic of a safe, loving home.

Our sweet pregnant mama kitty is safe and sound in foster care!

Meet Opossum, our brave little mama-to-be. She’s settling into her cozy foster home, getting used to her space and routine, and preparing to welcome her babies very soon!

We’re so excited (and a little anxious) as we wait for her to give birth — and we’re hoping for a smooth, healthy delivery for both mom and kittens.

‼️🆘 TIME RUNNING OUT TO SAVE HER LIFE 💔😭 🆘‼️

This poor girl 😭 she is set to be euthanized simply for having poor teeth and needing dental work. Anyone who has ever had a toothache can sympathize with the pain she must be in suffering from! Both of her upper canines are broken upper canines are broken and she is too painful to allow further examination of her back teeth. She is very friendly and loves attention, she just doesn’t want her teeth checked. When the shelter attempted to look at her back teeth, she would whine and try to move away but never showed any aggression from the pain. This girl is desperate for her chance to break free from the shelter and be saved from certain euthanasia. 😭🙏

Sadly due to being rescue pull only adopters or fosters must submit applications through a licensed rescue and complete the process to be able to save this dog- a process that does take time, meaning every minute counts! THERE IS NO TIME TO WAIT, if interested please submit your application with a rescue in your area ASAP to begin the process.

This senior girl was found alone, wandering the streets of Haysville. She's in terrible shape — skin and bones, sick, eyes goopy — but still full of love and trust for every human she meets.

She was taken to VESH as a Good Samaritan drop-off and then transferred to the shelter as a stray. Now she’s in grave danger.

Because of her age and condition, she will likely NOT make it to the adoption floor at KHS. She’s on the brink of being added to the euthanasia list — and could be pulled for mercy euthanasia at any moment.

Beauties and Beasts is a state-licensed 501(c)(3) death row rescue located in Wichita, Kansas. We do not discriminate against breed, age, medical needs, or behavior. We love ALL animals and breeds the same.

Since our founding in October 2014, we have been able to save the lives of over 2000 death row animals, we have also been able to network out over 1100 animals to other rescues. We are a completely 100% volunteer run rescue, we also rely on 100% donations from our followers and supporters to carry out our mission to save animals in our community.

Our purpose is to rescue death row animals from the shelter and in our community and place them in foster homes where they can receive the care and training needed to become family pets. Our main mission is to change these animals’ worlds one rescue at a time. Another large part of our mission is to be a voice for animals in need throughout our community and we are proud to say we have been able to make an impact on the streets of our city as well.
