Here is Gus his very first time in the Pessoa system. All the ground driving I do with him created a nice trust and understanding as I got him hooked up and adjusted. This is a great device for strengthening the top line when you’re getting ready to fit up again or after an injury requiring stall rest. Not too long at a time and not more than 2-3 times a week to start. It’s also helpful for tightening up those upward canter transitions from the trot and back down as the horse maintains the length over the top line from poll to tail and hock engagement. But don’t do that until he’s quite fit and mentally ready! Gus has this very loose and I’m pleased he went right to stretching. ❤️Gus on the other hand is not pleased because he knows it’s time to get back to serious work. I gave him a cookie to help with the sting of his realization 😂

Gus is feeling better-we’re missing Nipper terribly but doing our best to carry on.
Nipper started with a new farrier today and I am so blessed how great a job Scott McGill did. My former farrier is dealing with some health issues and he was a godsend for Nipper. I had tried someone else and then thankfully found Scott. We’ve got different front shoes on my boy and we’re trying something a little different in the back including no more trailer on the old suspensory injury side. Nipper did his best, as always, and Scott was patient and kind. Thank you Scott and thank you Nipper’s guardian angels for helping me find another great farrier. They’re far and few between and you’d best treat them well!

Nipper has daily hand walking and supervised turn out. We walk all over the ranch to keep it interesting-today he was pretty casual during turn out not loping and bucking! He’s looking fantastic and sound and happy. I hope to be the same when I reach his age!

Nibbling Breeze❤️ Just completed hock injections. Although still woozy, he’s letting everyone at the clinic know he’s still awesome! Yes, he is! Twenty three years old and still got it goin’ on. Very proud of him today, always a pro at everything he does.
