Today, we only had a few minutes to spare but we were still able to harvest oregano and get into dehydrator this morning. We used all the oregano we saved from last year so hoping to preserve more!

We started some early vegetables in the raised bed to get things rolling this year. We started lettuce, broccoli, spinach, and shelling peas. And they all appear to be doing well!

So I decided since we are stuck inside by the snow, I would take advantage of the time and make our detergent for the next year. What I used to pay each month on buying store bought detergent now pays for a whole year's worth of detergent concentrate. We have done this for three years now.
Next on the list, planning this year's garden!

We managed to get one last canning session done before the end of year. We have loads of carrots we are over wintering. I decided to thin some out and get them canned. I am so thankful that Stephen was able to help pull and wash in the freezing cold!

The corn is getting close! The stalks are getting so tall you can barely see Stephen's head. The ears are starting to fill out so we should have some ready in a week or two.

After the peaches were processed, I found a patch of blackberries growing over the fence from the neighbor's place. Packed what I could and it looks like there will be more coming this week. Freezing away for blackberry pies this fall!

The cornfield is almost complete! We have planted several weeks of successional plantings, over 1200 seeds!

Bountiful weekend! We were able to fill strawberry orders, can more strawberry jam, and was able to freeze a gallon bag of berries for winter. Plus, we were able to eat fresh off the vine. Yum!

We spent the day getting the other side of the property ready for corn. Stephen put up a fence that we will expand as we plant more rows and he tilled in lots of lovely compost! After that, I manage to get 4 flats of corn starts I had started from seeds, purchased from Seed Saver Exchange, organic and non GMO. Then we started two more flats in the green house.

If anyone has any eggs cartons laying around, we would love to be able to recycle them! We are running low due to excellent egg production and lots of cartons out to customers right now who buy from us. Everyone is really good about sending them back when they buy more eggs but we are at a stage where I am having to get creative. Please let us know if you have any you can spare!
