🎯UPDATE🎯 Last Thursday July 25th was the one year anniversary of serving a search warrant and confiscating 18 dogs out of horrible conditions in the Menifee area. For information see previous post pinned to top of our page. The jury trial for this case starts in October. They are now living in the Lancaster area. During the recent pre-trial both defendants, Durand and Castera, were ordered to not own, care for, possess or be in the presence of animals. It was reported to us on July 14th that they were still in possession of animals. We have been made aware of several social media postings by this group (Wonder Earth Rescue) trying to defame not only AFV Animal Control but the outstanding officers that are dedicated to this case. We will try to update you again as we get closer to October. If you would like more information regarding this court case it can be found via public records on the website for Superior Court of CA-County of Riverside, case SWF2301920.

To end on a happy note meet Playa, she was one of the dogs confiscated. She was paralyzed in her rear legs and was severely emaciated. Take a look at the picture before and take a longer look at the picture the day she left the shelter for her new home. Playa left with a beautiful coat, a perfect body weight and a bright future.
