Dade County Animal Hospital

Dade County Animal Hospital Dade County Animal Hospital is a clinic in Northwest Georgia that deals with small animals. We have been in business for 35 years.

DCAH has been an active practice since September 1, 1978. Dr. Robert McKaig, DVM, was the original owner and has now retired from the clinic. He sold the practice to Dr. Nick Weldon, DVM in September 2011. DCAH is based on the belief that our customers' needs are of the utmost importance. Our entire staff is committed to meeting those needs. As a result, a high percentage of our business is from r

epeat customers and referrals. We would welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and deliver you the best service in the industry. Small animal services are provided at our office. We are equipped to handle all your pet emergencies or yearly vaccinations and everything in between. It is our goal to provide you with a thorough visit with our staff. Your pet's health will always be of the utmost importance to us. Please feel free to call our office to set up an appointment. We no longer offer large animal services.

As Practice Manager Recognition Week comes to a close, we would be remiss if we did not recognize our wonderful manager, Amber! Many of you recognize her as she has been with the practice for over 10 years, working first as a technician, filling in as receptionist when needed, and now has served as our practice manager for the past 3 years. She works hard daily to advocate for us but also for you! She never receives enough credit, yet never complains. This place really would not run without her! Let’s show Amber some love and some thanks!

11/07/2024

Join us in supporting our community throughout November by donating 3 to 4 can goods or other non-perishable items and receive a complimentary pet nail trim or a**l gland expression as our appreciation.

If you don’t see the cats up front, they’re probably in the back stealing Dr. Selzer’s chair! They love to wait for her to come out of a room and then beg her for treats. Works every time.

Anyone else have a spoiled rotten critter at home? 😻♥️

Diagnosis: Stinkin’ cute! ✔️

River came in for her first puppy checkup today. She was the best girl, and we all love her so much! She is going to be a BIG girl. 21lbs at only 10 weeks old! 😱 Dr. Selzer recommended daily exams moving forward so we can love on her every day as she grows. Not sure if her parents will go for that, but here’s hoping…..

We are engaged in a little healthy competition this week and Birdie just found out Kuzco is winning!! If you have a good visit with us this week, feel free to award your favorite staff member with a sticker next to their name 🙂 Client votes weigh heavily on the final count.

Also just a note - Dr. Resh is out of town so Dr. Selzer is flying solo for most of the week. We will do our best to accomodate everyone, and we appreciate your patience if things get hectic!

09/30/2024

We will be closed from 12-1:30pm today for our monthly staff meeting. Sorry for the inconvenience!

09/23/2024

Just a heads up - We will be closing early at 1pm on Thursday, September 26, to complete our quarterly inventory. Please get your med refills in today or tomorrow so we can have them filled for you before we close!

Do you recognize this dog? This sweet girl was found on 11 near Trenton Trade Day around 1pm today. She clearly has a home and we’d like to reunite her with her owner! Please call us if you recognize her!

Also just a little PSA: as much as we would love to be able to take in all the strays that are found in the area, we cannot. We do not have the capabilities that a shelter has and therefore cannot function as one. We encourage you to reach out to your local shelter or rescue groups and/or animal control if you find a stray. We are not able to take them!
