It is with a heavy heart of disappointment that we had to add to Willcox’s barbed wire collection, but after the burglary it became necessary. We very much hope to not let this loss to anything other than inspire us to get a move on!

A massive thank you to everyone who’s offered help and looked out for us these past few days. Impossible to name everyone but special love to Arizona Sunset Inn, Source of Coffee, Bear's Vintage Thrift, the Willcox AZ Chit-Chat community, and, of course, the Willcox Police Department ❤️❤️❤️

Some may have noticed we’ve started to populate our entrance border. As most know, adult plants are expensive and bringing in from out of the zip code can be a shock for the little beauties.
Therefore...if you’ve some plants you’re ready to see move on, we would welcome them. Donations would be lovely, but we could trade!

*Warning: Infrastructure Post*
For the first time, our groundwork has been put to a little test. The tires, even without their final dressing, and new materials have prevented water pooling and collecting on the land and encouraged it back to S Arizona Ave, allowing the wash in the road to work as designed.
This will lead to fewer areas of stagnant water and naturally reduce breeding grounds for mosquitoes.
Thank you all for being so patient as we steadily work through this project 🙏❤️☺️

Thanks to Kelly, Dwayne, and the team at Willcox Rock & Sand, Inc for squeezing in a last second delivery at the farm!
This means those ugly (yes, we heard you Willcox) tires will be covered sooner rather than later. We’re reusing these notoriously difficult-to-dispose-of items to reconstruct the earth that’s been washed away over a decade of neglect.
Watch this space!

Whilst we are hoping to get back to relative "normal" as quickly as the Powers That Be want us to, at Baron & Wombat we'll be keeping our distancing for a little while longer.

It's a sad fact that on the day that we start to re-open our State, Arizona has reported the highest number of daily deaths from COVID-19. It is vital that we keep our produce protected, and even more important to continue to deliver to our wonderfully supportive customers.

Thank you all for buying local and supporting us!

Just delivered to FRESH MART -> micro cilantro, harvested this morning, grown here in Willcox, and presented in zero plastic packaging.
Let us know which of our herbs you’d like to find in your independent supermarket 😋

04/08/2020

We have a bumper load of micro cilantro thanks to the beautiful temperatures. Don't forget to ask if you'd like some delivered.
Grown organically in Willcox, packaged in ZERO plastic, and delivered to your door? Bloody heck...sounds better than Walmart.

An Urban Farm for Willcox

A growing urban farm and community space, set in the old heart of the city.

Baron & Wombat is an urban farm and aspiring community space in the heart of the old commercial district in downtown Willcox, Arizona. We’ve been inspired by the recent regeneration and new hope in Cochise County: a place of such infamous history, it truly is still the wildest of the West.

By working closely with local businesses and listening to the needs of our neighborhood families, we intend to develop a little over 1.5 acres into a space that grows delicious vegetables, herbs, and fruits, hosts community events and exhibitions, supports grass-roots activism and organizations, and welcomes learning for all ages and abilities.
