We appreciate the donations and support from our local business" and communities. (Save Our Strays) is a non-profit organization consisting of officers, board members volunteers. Mingo County recently hired a "dog catcher" that will pick up animals, but will have limited space to house them. We are trying to work WITH them to find homes for the animals before other measures are taken. At S.O.S., w

e take pride in the fact that we ARE helping these animals and we are not going to GIVE UP on them! Our goal is to have a safe place to keep abandoned or stray animals until we can find a home for them. We believe that ALL animals deserve a chance to survive and find a "forever" home! If we can save even ONE animal from being put to sleep without a reason, then we have accomplished our goal. Your donation is tax-deductible, you will never go wrong helping an innocent animal. These animals are depending on your help for survival! We have our office trailer at Borderland on Corridor "G" highway 119. Please remember that we are NOT a full-fledged animal shelter and right now, we need a few MORE foster homes to help us get the animals off of the streets. If you or anyone you know could help us foster until they can find a permanant home, please contact us immediately! Vicky Lipps: 304-235-2854

Our Story

S.O.S. (Save Our Strays) is a non-profit organization consisting of officers, board members and foster parents. There is no HUMANE SOCIETY or ANIMAL SHELTER in Mingo County, but we do have a "dog catcher" that will pick up animals and bring them to us so we can transport them to larger facilities. At S.O.S., we take pride in the fact that we ARE helping these animals and we are not going to GIVE UP on them. Thanks for your support!!

Our goal is to have a safe place to keep abandoned or stray animals until we can find a home for them. We believe that ALL animals deserve a chance to survive and find a "forever" home! If we can save even ONE animal from being put to sleep without a reason, then we have accomplished our goal. *Your donation is tax-deductible and you will never go wrong helping an innocent animal that some other human being has dumped out beside of the highway and left to starve. These animals are depending on your help for survival! We have our office trailer at Borderland on Corridor "G" highway 119. We have an agreement with a nice couple from Ohio who is living there and taking care of the animals that we get in case of an emergency situation.

Please remember that we are NOT a full-fledged animal shelter and right now, we need a few MORE foster homes to help us get the animals off of the streets. If you or anyone you know could help us foster until they can find a forever home, please contact us immediately!
