Check out Dusty’s first time out in public compared to his second, it’s our job as trainers to make sure our service dogs are comfortable in new environments, he has made great improvements since his first outing to his second, keep updated on his training for when we start doing task training with Dusty. 🐕‍🦺❤️🐾❤️ Speaking to him in a calmer tone while still reinforcing wanted behavior is one way to do it, we do not want to startle him with a huge puppy party especially since he hasn’t been socialized properly to out in public, he is a rehome and his former owners didn’t socialize him to out in public, he was only socialized to going to the vets office and back home. Dusty is being trained for a handler who has Mobility/Stability issues due to Lupus, Lupus effects everyone differently and we are here to help make life easier and more comfortable. Dusty did alright with obedience with the chair, and walker, but obedience comes along during training, and for 8 months he is where we want him to be. task training starts soon after this to get him to retrieve items, turn on-off light switches, open-close doors, etc. Leading up to him being delivered, follow us to continue to see how he progresses in his Mobility/Stability service dog training. #fivestarcaninetraining #servicedogtraining #certifieddogtrainer #labradorretriever #servicedog #mobilityassistance #stabilityassistance

Behavior modification is so important, it helps keeps owners safe, one reason why he was rehomed his owners loved him but began to have some issues to the point where they were afraid of an accident happening with their grandkids, we decided it would be better if he stayed with us where we can help contain his behavioral issues and be in a safe and loving environment still
