If your pet had a microchip placed in our office prior to July 15, 2024, please call us to discuss your options.

This job requires lifting, bending, walking and being on your feet most of the day. Hospitals cleanliness and sanitation, as well as animal comfort and health are priorities of the job. You will be cross trained to work in different positions and weekend availability required. Client services, office procedures and client communication is also involved.

It's almost time for the Ohio River Sternwheel Festival this weekend! If you are in need of prescription calming medication for your pet please call ASAP to request medication or a refill. We can also schedule microchip implantation for cats and dogs. More pets get lost due to fireworks then any other cause.

If you are in need of prescription calming medication for your pet please call no later than tomorrow (Friday 6/28/24) to request medication or a refill. Doctors will not be in the office next week to approve new medication request for these meds.

Additionally, there is no better time to microchip your pet! More pets are lost during the 4th of July nationwide than any other time of year. And don't forget we have the Sternwheel Festival coming up too!

Saturday June29th-July4th, we will not have a doctor available in the hospital. If your pet is in need of emergency assistance; staff will be available by phone, but will likely refer you to the nearest emergency hospital.

River City Pet Hospital got us thinking about the number of Lyme Disease cases so far this year compared to last year, so we thought we would share our data in the spirit of prevention!

From Jan 2023-June 2023: we had 30 cases. (2023 total was 78)
From Jan 2024-June 2024: we have had 48 cases so far!
Approximately 1 in 6 dogs test positive for Lyme Disease in the MOV. It is important to remember that humans can acquire Lyme Disease as well, therefore prevention is so important!
